I really like the way attached images open now. Instead of a new window or tab, it opens right in the current window over the screen. The thumbnail view is great too!

Yeah... technically, that is how the forum is suppose to work. When all threads have been viewed, then (and only then) the forum will be marked read.

However, we don't like how this works... so in our previous version of vbulletin, we modified the system to mark the forum read when you view it, regardless of how many threads are left unread.

The problem is I can't remember exactly how we did it, and I have to sort through a bunch of files and compare code to figure out what needs to be copied.

So until I get that done, you can either mark individual forums read or use the mark all read link in the navbar.

Now that i think about it, when I previously would mark a forum read, like the News/Feedback forum, for example, it would return me to the parent directory, in this case, the Other Forums folder.

Funny how when modifying things to work to our tastes we have to think about how to do it again later. :) I modify a lot of things at my job to work the way the users need them to work. I then document how I did it. When it needs service or modification I then have to search for it in my notes. Remembering the keywords to search for the notes can be a challenge for me.

Yeah, this time around I documented everything to save time in the future (and not miss anything).

The thing is, all the changes we make are to make things more user friendly and logical, and the changes the companies who make the software make are usually to make things more complicated (and user unfriendly!).

As others posted,When i get done reading a Forum i always clicked on MARK THIS FORUM READ,and it is not responding.Ialways liked it like that because if i had to leave,i could always come back later and remember what i didnt read..Ialso got a bunch of old pms in my home spot.
