Get rid of the JD then and buy something different, or just run your Kubota. I have the same 3301 and as others have said, I rarely even know when it's gone into regen. I always thought the 790 was one of John Deere's better compacts. Then again I didn't realize they made them recently enough to have DPF.
No, this is the Kubota, but it seems to be getting less as I run it harder as I tend to run at idle. But try to lift up stump with it running at high RPMs, will tear the grapple off if your not careful.

Yes I am old enough.....but I lived in an area that had clean air and not many automobiles. Probably about as rural as one can get I suppose. I have a different view of government as they have forced metropolitan compliance's on a person who is a responsible citizen without their intervention.....or should i say in spite of their intervention.

Something is terribly wrong with your tractor. You are the ONLY one on here that has to put his tractor in Park for it to regenerate. All the rest of us just keep on doing what we were doing. Regen light goes on, then 15 minutes or so later it goes back off again when the cycle is done.
Well, I have read that manual and you have to rev it up to a point, where I cant do any work clearing the lots. I would tear the FEL clear off if I hit the trees at that point..

Yet what you do has an effect on others. We are on the end of the prevailing winds, and get all of the crap which the rest of you spew into the air. In the past 40 years I've seen the air quality here deteriorate drastically, while we also have lost population and much of our industry.

All I can say is you’re not making sense. There’s things that control ground speed besides rpms. Low gears or low range on the hst.

Well, try it in low range in low gear at high RPM, and hit a good size tree and you will get the picture..........

I use low range and high rpm’s all the time. Forward ground speed is not controlled by rpm’s. It’s controlled by gears and or hst pedal. And why are you ramming good sized trees?

I might put my contribution to clean air and water above yours. So don't try and claim a moral high ground here when you lump me into your problem with your supossedly deteriorating air quality. Get someone in your area to look into your problem and leave the blame where it belongs. You folks claim you can fix the climate so have your government take care of those winds.

I can remember when I was just an apprentice lineman driving an old line truck with a Detroit diesel that bellowed black smoke when you went to take off and was travelling down a city street and stopped at a red light when I heard some woman holler there's one of those son of a b&tches , so I looked around to see if I could spot him as she wheeled up beside the line truck on her bike and wearing a vest that said ONE LESS CAR, and proceeded to tell me that it was me that she was referring to due to the fact that I was driving that truck and killing the environment and quite a few more nasty comments, but the she cat do-gooder had made one fatal mistake, she had stopped her bike right next to where the exhaust pipe stuck out below the bin doors, well the light turned green and I held the brake and mashed the pedal to the floor and smoked that b#tch out, watching her rant and rave in the mirror as I went on about my day, actually felt pretty good about it. From some of these post's on here she easily could have went on to marry and indoctrinate a few of these posters.

I don’t think we will have to put up with this regen bs too much longer. Once they figure out that it costs more fuel to do it, and that puts more CO2 in the atmosphere, they will come up with a better solution.

Hopefully, I can get my pre Tier 4 tractors to last until that happens. There will be no skimping on maintenance on them, that is for sure.

Are you old enough to remember the disgusting brown air of the 1960-70s that made your chest hurt and sinuses wheeze whenever you went outside? Vehicle emissions are much cleaner today and the brown air is pretty much a thing of the past. I’m glad that government intervened with vehicle emissions.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm just here for the laughs.

We already know where the problem comes from, it's been going on for years. What goes up must come down... all of that crap that spews from your tailpipe ends up someplace, it doesn't just "magically" disappear. All of those tall smokestacks from coal burning plants just puts the soot up higher, so that it spends more time in the air before coming down.

I'm not debating the science just the "cart before the horse solutions"....

in which governments politicize, cater to special interests, and leave the middle class with the expense and blame. Viable economies were built on fossil fuels, so if you just turn it off (as in the US today) the majority of citizens suffer greatly. But lets be clear, the ruling class elites and their government cohorts who set this policy, hold the middle class hostage to these cart before the horse policies, will have little regard for the air you breathe, let alone your particular economic situation..

As far as coal plants go, they were being phased out (in the US over time) and LNG was the most viable and more constant replacement.(as opposed to wind and solar) However, presidential policy in 2021 made natural gas production much more expensive (regulation and leasing stalemates) and not only that, banned fracking on federal lands..Natural gas is a relatively clean fossil fuel and we have an abundant resource of this. In your area there is a lot of natural gas, so maybe get to your policy makers and tell them to get with it. It will now take longer because of the setback in 2021....probably at least three to four years when it could have been up and running by now.

I live in an area where we get most of our electricity from hydroelectric, so that's probably why my air is cleaner? However, they have shut down many smaller hydro plants in favor of the environment. But lets be clear, everything that produces energy will, in some form or another, have an impact on the environment. From the storage batteries, to the vast land space requirements of wind and solar, and on to the misgivings about nuclear energy. We have a long ways to go before we eliminate fossil fuels. So I stand fast in my rejection of government solutions that are tainted politically and lack common sense and practicality.

add; the high up in the atmosphere polution could be coming from China, Russia, India etc. But that's the rest of the story.

I wonder how much pollution airplanes put out? Also, between cars/trucks/airplanes, do tractors even come close to putting as much of the pollution that goes in the air? Also, why does 25 horse or less not have to have the pollution stuff on it? I am sure this has already been discussed/beaten to death but I was just wondering.

This is a common misconception spread all over the internet. 25 HP and under offroad engines also have to meet emission requirements, however this can be done with just the tuning of the engine without the need for DPF, EGRs, etc.

I do get your point though. These newer engines, common rail or mechanically injected, burn so clean even without a DPF, that makes me wonder if it really needs a DPF in the first place.

You apparently haven’t figured out the low range first gear on your gear tractor. At any RPMs the forward speed in only a few mph.
