drawbar?

Yeah, my dad just bought a new JD with a backhoe and they forgot to give him the drawbar, he went back and they gave him one no problem, sure your dealer would do the same for you.

What? A new tractor sold without a drawbar? I highly doubt it. Tractors can be used for many things but one of the most basic uses is pulling something. You need a drawbar for that. If your tactor doesn't have one then I would talk to the dealer and tell them about. They must have forgot to install it.

The drawbar is optional on the B3300su and L3700su. Since they are the Special Utility models (lower priced) they don't include it as standard equipment. I would guess that there are a lot of compact tractor users that never use the drawbar, which is probably why the feel they could omit it.

The drawbar is only like $50 from Kubota for the B3300su.

There is a lot more engineering in a drawbar than many people believe.

This is a safety issue since the tractor can overturn in a heartbeat if a hard pull is hooked up incorrectly. Just getting it "below the axle" is no guarantee of safety no matter what anyone tells you.

The only drawbar I would ever use is a factory drawbar designed for the exact make and model of tractor it is used on. If a factory drawbar were available, a homemade exact copy might be acceptable, but the properties of the steel involved would always be a question.

I use mine all the time, for 2 main things : (1) I put my trailer ball in it and move my boat around and launch it (2) with a chain to drag things like cars out of ditches :)

Maybe I am crazy... Could not see the point in using solid steel bar. I made this drawbar for my B21 from ordinary four corner 4 mm steel tube, drilled two holes and welded on a 50 mm ball for european standard coupling. Works fine for boat trailer and other normal non-professional traction duties. Cost under $15.

CurlyDave makes a good point. Please take this into consideration. A sudden rotation of the tractor around the rear axle can have a lot of force and you want a proper drawbar in place "just in case."

The B3300SU in fact does NOT come with a draw bar but has the mounting point. You just have to supply your own draw bar. They left it out of the package for the same reason they left out the mid PTO and cruise control; giving customers a choice of what they want included in a package with pricing differences.

Like Verticaltrx said, they are not that expensive from the dealer if you choose to add it.
