Still in the options menu which you can access in flight (or I believe you can at least).

The X Star used a simple rolling switch. Easy to use to make instant changes inflight without having to hover and make setting changes. Came in handy when turning toward/away from light or angling the camera down/up.

The EVO II makes these adjustments but does it too slow. For example, if shooting video and changing the aim of the camera there is a short time of too dark or too light before the computer makes the adjustment. Since non of the controls have the ability to make this change, I think I'm stuck with it. Will just require an adjustment to my flight style.

One of Stihl's larger backpack blowers.

That would definitely test the Drone's stability!!!! :)

I have noticed the EVO II is much more stable than the X Star. The X Star's gimble worked so good that instability was rarely visible in video.

I think the technology is still improving in regards to stable flight.

I have been busy writing LOTs of emails lately and FIMI head Office have requested all the info I can give them re my drone saga. Hopefully some resolve in the not too distant future.

Not to derail this thread but where do you guys buy replacement parts?

I crashed my mini air and need a new gimbal frame... camera is fine.

Drone privileged is under attack, sad. Its like my other hobbies, like ATVing, and Jeeping. Seems if it isnt protected under the constitution then the fun nazis will work to ban them. Even some items in the constitution are under attack.

That being said, my Mavic Air drone is my first and will be the last drone I will ever own-too many restricitons for a hobby toy.

No derail at all.

I'm able to get what I need direct from Autel Robotics.

I'm not sure about DJI. Hopefully someone can chime in with a solution.

I've worried about this since I bought my first Drone. I try to not accelerate the problem. I don't abuse people with my Drone. I don't buzz crowds or hover over them. I don't fly low over or around people's homesteads without permission first.

I was concerned when I heard that zoom cameras are now available. Even though it's digital zoom, it still can be invasive.

My new Drone has this feature. At 1,000ft distance I can zoom in on my house until it fills the picture. At that distance you'll not know I'm there and/or potentially looking at you. Even if you possibly see me, you won't be able to tell if I'm looking at you or not.

So all I can do is be polite and considerate.

As with several "hobbies" in this great nation, Droning is growing at such an alarming rate that it will become extremely hard for any sort of laws/rules to be enforced.

One method of enforcement that I am fully in favor of is identification tracking. My Drone should emit a signal that identifies it. That signal could be gathered by LEO to enforce any laws/rules I am breaking.

Do you have the DJI Mavic Zoom?

I have the Mavic Air 2 in my sights. I believe it is one of the best available and features unmatched for the price, However, things are on hold at present. I just had to install a new hot water system and yesterday my microwave blew up for the 4th time, so, over $800 for hot water and another $500 for a microwave has seen my drone money diminish at a rapid rate.
Now, what can I sell?
A good thing about the Air2 is 4K 60 FPS.

I stuck with Autel in my replacement. I have nothing negative to say about DJI. I sometimes hear complaints about their flight restrictions. Also about forced upgrades? But I can't testify to any of that. Fly what you believe in.

I'm not familiar enough with my new Drone to even tell you what it's camera is capable of??

The other day I was playing with it and changing the camera settings. I went to the highest setting in video, don't remember what it was, when I played the video it would stop/start, as if my computer couldn't process it at that capacity? Excuse my ignorance about the technical things.....

Maybe you selected H.265 HD instead of H.264. You may need to update your player to accommodate H.265. I use Potplayer and upgraded that. It plays well. Also 4K requires a good computer to be able to play it back smoothly. Once again try upgrading your player for 4K

Thank you very much. I'll do that.

Not sure what I selected. I'll verify that as well.

Thanks again!!!

As for the restrictions with DJI, they were a real problem for us at work, especially when we use it for professional video use, in restricted airspace... INDOORS. Factories, warehouses, retail stores, etc. It WAS a problem until we found the companies that sell hacked firmware. Now it's no longer a problem. :) ((We know how to fly legally and don't need a nanny.))

That Autel sure looks nice though.

There are usually ways around "things". :)

I'm not a brand war person. I think DJI makes a great product.

I haven't flown the new EVO enough to have an opinion. I'll always offer my opinions about the good/bad as I learn them. :)

That bright orange is a winner, too. Unless you want your drone to be invisible, which we don't.

We also have to wear orange vests and badges to keep us looking official so people won't assume we're using the drone without permission...

and we use a separate person 'observer' just to deal with the thousands of people that come up and want to talk to us while we're flying and trying to take professional video.

I won't do more than mention the hate we get from my fellow helicopter pilots about drones, either. They act like people that use drones are vampires or something. Useless to mention that I also fly helicopters and believe drones can be used safely. I don't mention the time I was legally drone flying at 150 feet AGL when an air evac came over the treeline at about 120 knots at 100 feet. Nothing I could do but leave the drone right where it was. Maverick coulda hit a kids kite at that altitude, and I'll bet he was joyriding, since it was a rural location with no road or hospital nearby. I know a few air evac guys, heartsa-gold, but wild-eyed when they wanna be. ;)

EVO II runs 1080 or 4K as well.

I know they do Richard, remember I have a DJI as well as the Autel. Not being an electronic whiz I don't like the Geofencing but not gonna change it when the EVO don't have it in the first place. I hear there is some stinko going on over just that.

I'm like Richard and Alien, We tend to fly alone in remote areas. Actually a drone club nearby (next town west) but I have little desire to join. I go out and fly around my farm fields mostly.
