Mine also has the LT tires, Goodyear Wranglers.

I live at 800'. The Turbos should "Normalize" the engine so altitude won't make more difference on a turbo motor.

All I can tell you is what I see and calculate myself, not what is "reported" on the net. I know my info is the truth and unbiased.

Earlier this year Chris you stated "
I have 13.5 years of service as the corporate pilot for a auto parts supplier making glass and my father has 40 plus years as VP of a supplier making radiator and gas caps and fuel components.

Chris

end of quote and during numerous tirades against GM you have stated your being burn't as a supplier by GM.......I added two plus two . Your bias is flaggrant . I just tihnk it should be fair that everyone keeps that in mind because opinions paid for should be separated from opinions of "joe average"

Ummm, he doesn't work for that place anymore (I remember seeing that in a previous post). Maybe he is biased, but is that any worse than your bias against? Geez, it was an honest post.

I guess since my username is fordmantpw, I'm on his side and we all collude together.

I did work for a company called Saint Gobain for 13.5 years whom made auto glass amongst many other products. I lost my job there when they sold the company to a German Firm whom already had a flight department. They closed ours after a year battle with Budwiser in federal courts. We supplied them with glass beer bottles. They filed suit with Federal Trade Commission but eventually lost. It was too late for our department and the new parent company, the damage was done, and we all lost our jobs. At the end of the day Budwiser cost 20 of us our jobs.

My father is retired from Stant. He worked there for 40 years running operations in Connersville Indiana, Pine Bluff Arkansas, and Tijuana Mexico.

I believe you. It's just odd we have such different numbers.

My father has seen some of those low numbers with his '13 EB as well. 14 empty, 7 towing an 18' travel trailer weighing in around 3500 lbs. Of course, he does have a lead foot, and it was windy while towing the trailer. He did average 15+ on a trip towing a big popup from MO to MT and UT and back, with a few stints of 18+. Of course, he doesn't mention that while complaining about fuel mileage...

He does LOVE the power it has, and that's part of the reason he sees lower fuel economy.

From what I have seen the Ecoboost is comparable to the 5.3 GM in economy. It just has more power for the same mpg. There will always be the argument over which is better, old school V8 or something new like the twin turbos? Time will tell but Ford is betting on the newer technology and so am I.

Some folks don't understand that you can have more power AND better fuel economy, but not necessarily both at the same time. I'm betting right with you and Ford, though I don't have an EcoBoost...yet.

Why do you have such a low opinion of other members of TBN that you believe they can't see such 'bias' without you pointing it out, in this case, with an unproven accusation that Chris is being paid.

I'm not sure if he hates Chris or just hates what he calls the "ecobust". I believe he has a sonar search engine that hones out the word ecoboost and fires off missiles that direction. He loves his 2014 GM 5.3 with 3:42 gears just as Chris and I love our ecoboost with 3:73's.

Actually, no. No you can't. There is X amount of energy in a Liter of fuel. It takes X amount of fuel to push a vehicle through the air at any given speed. All three majors find minor improvements by varying displacement. Ford with turbos, GM and RAM with variable cam timing.

RAM currently leads the fuel economy race because they are the slipperiest through the air. Ford will likely exceed the others with the new truck.
