Yes that trailer is sweet Redbug, 20' 7 ton dumper, would pretty much handle anything you throw at it!

Did you have that custom made or is it a production model, what company?

JB.

Hi JB, Bobby,

It was a production model in the 18 foot size, and I asked them to make it a 20 footer for a few dollars more. I specified the headache rack height, adding D rings, spare tire, (which I welded a place for it underneith), color, etc. BMF Trailer works made it up in Wisconsin. They dropped it off for me free on a trailer run to a trailer place in Elkhart, and I went up and pulled her back home to SC. I used to live up at Kokomo, (in Indiana), so it was an enjoyable trip up and back. Lotsa corn up that way...

There is definately a market for such a trailer. I just don't know why more people aren't making them. It would be a profitable niche to get into. BMF also makes side dumpers as well. But, I don't know anything about them.

that looks close to being a deck over the fenders must be pretty heavy duty does it have a spring ride or a torqflex axle system

Hi Bobby, JB,

The axles are spring ride. I discovered that BMF trailers was bought out and is now called Big Lug trailers. I found their website. Need to use Explorer for best viewing. It is: Big Lug, Heavy Duty, Commercial, Equipment, Dump Trailers

There have been a few changes, but the trailer I have is in the FD series. Yes, the fenders are designed to be driven over, if need be. I noticed prices had gone up...probably because of the price of steel.

ya they are moving for me even with the economy being slow and i do like your in put that's why i started this thread. i am looking to possibly build the other type of dumps also but it would have to be a high end trailer to, i think that a high quality product says a lot about a person but i am unsure if i can compete in price with the others
That is a neat trailer overall but it obviously has limited applications. I say that as the owner of a Bri-Mar tandem dually that I would not want to be without. I use mine to haul hay, bulk material of course and anything too long for my pickup. The only thing better would be a set of loading ramps.

I bought used and do not know about ramps on a Bri-Mar but I have seen them on the PJ's.

My only other comment is on the use of three axles and having to be a bit more mindful of them over say a tandem dually.

That is an awesome trailer. I am in the market for one and the 3 in 1 concept should pretty much do it for me especially at 20 Ft. Just curious to how well it pulls as a bumper pull with the tractor and attachments loaded. I am trying to decide between goose neck and bumper pull. I like the convenience of the bumper, but I understand there is quite a bit of stability added with a goose neck.

Randot,

For heavy loads I use a load distribution hitch with the trailer. Light loads...like a load of firewood or debris, I do not need the weight distribution hitch. I would suggest the goose neck over the bumper hitch. If I was not in love with a shell on the bed of my truck, I would have gotten the goose neck, (better turning radious, etc).

Thanks for the reply Redbug, I have an F350 to pull with and currently pulling a 20ft tilt bed with the same size tractor as yours and everyone is correct, it depends how you load it as to how it will ride. I also meant to ask about the removable sides. On the manufacturer's web site they offer 24" sides with barn doors. I saw somewhere in this thread someone saying that they might bend out ward with larger loads of gravel etc. Your wood sides look very sturdy, what is your opinion on the steel sides as to how well they will hold up to heavier loads of rock etc?
