I'm going new. I think I'm going to go look at Texas Pride and Big Tex. They both have dealers that are pretty close to me. Texas Pride is a bit cheaper but doesn't look to built quite as heavy.
I think you’ll do great with either of those brands. And neither are overpriced. IMO, TP is underpriced and BT is average priced.

With the price of used trailers now it looks like a guy would be able to get most of the initial cost back out of the trailer if you ever sold it. Used car haulers like mine are selling for more now than what I paid for it.

For most of us that aren't commercial there isn't really a return on investment in owning most of the equipment that we own. It sits way more than it gets used. The return for me is being able to do the work myself, on my schedule.
My 20' tilt deck car trailer was 5000.00 in 2010 and saved me about $2650.00 in income tax at the time. It's now likely worth more than $5000.00 and I've used it off and on for 15 years without a two hour round trip to rent one. I think I got a good deal.

So a mix of commercial and personal use?
you certainly have to justify it somehow or you are simply rich … but in my case i guess somewhat yes but nothing is not officially commercial just on the side but still some individuals manage to justify it when they have a road to built a road to they camp for example… in my case it will be a all over used that justifies it like hauling fire wood during the winter and everything i mentioned earlier and it’s a good point ops said a manure spreader doesn’t bring any money or a flat deck ether they are all expenses.

I believe in being self-sufficient, that is why we have a 4 Big Tex trailers, plus a Sundowner horse trailer. I could pay dealers to pick up and deliver equipment or material, but I don't like being at their mercy as far as dates and times. I use my dump trailer 2-3 times a month, more than my 16' utility trailer with a ramp gate. Easy to load/unload pallets.

Do dealers typically negotiate on the prices on these a bit or is the published price generally it?

Mine will negotiate. They also do trade-ins. I would rather trade in the old trailer and take a hit on value, rather than deal with people trying to sell it on Facebook or Craigslist.
