I can't speak for anyone else but the reason I don't like the soft ride has nothing to do with work capability or load capacity. I just plain don't want a soft ride in a truck......or a cars interior......or gadget ovedose. It's a truck! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I do have to say that I really like the bucket seats and arm rests though. I certainly wouldn't want to go back to the bench seats. All of the rest could go as far as I'm concerned. For me it's not a Ford vs Chevy thing but rather a truck vs the hausfrau vehicles they are becoming thing. Oh well, to each his own....

Well the dealer finally came down on $$$ today so I decided to take the plunge and get the '04. 200 miles and its pukeing tranny fluid. This is NOT a happy face /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Back to the dealer tomorrow. Dave

Two days later and I am waiting for a GM area rep to give the dealer a thumbs up to replace the entire tranny. Apparantly he's not very efficient at returning phone calls. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Dave

Another 1/2 day later and GM says no new tranny. Fix it and we'll think about if you have more problems ! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif There is nothing more frustrateing than hearing 1 more day or it will be ready tomorrow....3 days in a row. Dave

Sorry to hear about all this... My 02 2500hd is at the dealer right now for a TSB Allison fix. I dropped it off Sunday night for a first thing Monday appointment and called Wednesday and they still hadn't had it up on the rack yet. After a little pissing and moaning, I got the dealer to give me a loaner. Went yesterday and saw my truck up on the lift with half the underside laying on the floor. Rear drive shaft, exhaust, Cat, and several other pieces. The tech was just dropping the trans out of the frame and then quit for the day.

They gave me a 04 yukon xlt loaded to drive.... darn it's a gasser /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif though. I'm getting him to replace the spin on filter while he's got it up there for free.

My wife's Yukon is going in after this for a SES message that keeps occurring and Onstar gave her the error code to tell the dealer in case the light is off again. Most of the time they can get the info off the tranny computer.

Yeah yeah yeah /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif This one is like a pimp daddy truck inside too. I bought it sight unseen. Its basicly the same interior as a '00 caddy STS with all the computerized crud. YUCH ! I want my '02 BACK !!! What was I thinking ???? XM radio is the only new creature comfort worth mentinong and the Bose stereo system. It does set higher than the '02. At least they did away with the black plastic wheel flares and black front facia. Now its painted so I can scratch it up and make it look right ! Ford and GM need to figure out the injector problems and get back to makeing a more reliable product. I still couldn't swing for the new Ford, not at those prices with 1/2 the rebates and the same troubles /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif We'll try that run up the road after I get her juiced and the banks exhaust goin. Just a litlle more time and probably a bit more complainin. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I gotta instal a pre-OEM 2 micron filter this time around. Dave

I don't have any injector problems, never had. My only problem is the cps, about every 2 years.

It's a shame when you have to modify a new truck just to get it to run properly. I take it that the stock fuel filter will pass gravel??

You only have about 60 days to do those mods before I will be knocking on your door. Actually, I'll just throttle the engine outside, you will hear the turbo spool up and you will know I have arrived!! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

If I have to send this one back to GM I think I might install curb feelers and some underbody neon lights to go with the chome hitch...errr I mean the color coded and painted hitch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Yeah the primary filter isn't worth poo doo. A lot of guys that dont pay enough attention to maintenance are finding out the hard way right outside that 100k warranty. New injectors dont come cheap. A 2 micron filter is under $300 I think the stock one passes stones (5 microns ) /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Dave

I hope the stock filter at least has a water separator on it? Don't forget, GM's Japanese arm collaborated on the design. It should be a good engine even though I don't like aluminum heads on a cast iron block. I believe it has something to do with the coefficient of thermal expansion. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

As far as the Allison percolating Dexron, you sure it wasn't overfilled and maybe frothing a little? Allisons don't like to be overfilled. For that matter any slushbox will froth if overfilled.
