Mahindra 2555
Hello, I had the engine replaced on a Mahindra 2555 (we got it for free due to the blown engine ) and it keeps smoking heavily. It starts out as a big cloud of white smoke then turns into blueish smoke. We drove it longer one day and it eventually stopped smoking, but the next time we drove it it started to smoke again. It also expelled a bunch of black oil looking liquid from its exhaust pipe. The dealer mentioned that when replacing the engine he spilled some oil into the exhaust, but shouldn't it have cleared by now? Anything I should test out? The replacement was $11k and I don't want to cause a problem.

My initial reaction is what exactly did they install? A used engine? It sure sounds like your new engine has problems.

Have you checked the oil level? If the engine is burning oil, get it back to the dealer. I don't know how or why they would pour oil into the exhaust but that should burn out quickly. The engine is, no doubt, used. It may have had stuck valves or pistons and they tried to free them up with the oil. Bad service from a bad dealer.

As it turns out most often, nothing is free.

Where is the Oil? Is it running down the Block, below the Exhaust Manifold? Or out the Exhaust as Oil or Blue Smoke? Is it a Vertical Exhaust or horizontal?

I have seen Black Oil Streaking down from the exhaust manifolds on Non Broken In Diesels. The Oil blows by Valve Guides until they get worked in, on the Replacement, they might not have used an Exhaust Gasket adding to the "Look"
