EPA issue ban on wood stoves

Lost a good friend a few weeks ago that was a WWII Fighter Ace.

Even in his eighties he was fearless.

Our city has a strict leash law and sunday hikers had called the police on his dogs... two strays he had taken in... they said the dogs were threatening.

The police showed up at his front door and said they had a complaint about dogs off leash and they were sending animal control to follow up.

He told the officers they were trespassing and to leave... then he said did you not understand???

The dogs were on his land and he also owns the road the Sunday hikers trespass... ignoring posted no trespass signs.

Animal control showed up and was told to leave... the guy said he had a job to do and the old WWII vet said you do what you have to do and I will do what I have to do... he left.

After I asked him why was he giving the guys a hard time... he said that's the problem with my generation... no one stand for what's right. Dogs on my land... people were trespassing... end of story.

Good story.
I can only hope more people stand up for traditional core values.

Wow. What does Forbes mean by "rural people". If Forbes cares about rural people its only the ones with 50,000 acres. Those who are trying to GET AHOLD of YOUR acres, not help you to enjoy your wood stove. I smell a rat.

The mere fact that this Forbes article does not link to the EPA legislation on epa.gov is about the biggest clue. I've seen these forum posts, repeats of articles where they even link to EPA.gov, hoping you won't actually read the legislation and notice that it does NOT ban woodstoves. But in this Forbes article they don't even link to EPA.gov at all. They are trying something new.

Here is a search of epa.gov for "Wood Stove". If it was important enough for Forbes to shout out to rural people, why can't I find it on EPA.gov?

I do find a LOT of EPA suggestions to help you burn your wood "better", but can't find the Forbes "ban". I think the article is alarmist BS.

I agree 100% on the importance of traditional core values. Spreading BS is not a traditional core value (not yet).

It will be a cold day in July when some "tree hugging" EPA desk monkey comes to my house and serves me a summons to shut my furnace down! This person will not walk or drive away from my property. I will not stand for this and im sure there are a number of yall out there that feel the same as i do. All i can say is get the guns ready boys, might be an up rising!

JPM you may be right. By that time the desk monkey will be operating a Robo-dog from his office, and that day is not so far away. It will take just a few gov't people shot and it's over. You do know the military already has robo-dogs with guns, right? Well maybe you won't see them in your lifetime but probablyly mine, and maybe your kids (if you have any). THATS the USA I'm scared of.

But in any case the Wood Stove legislation hasn't even been proposed yet (unless you can find it on epa.gov) much less passed. I think the Forbes article is a bunch of BS just to get everybody riled up for some other purpose Forbes have in mind. Don't fall for it, look around.

I've seen this exact issue (the EPA stove ban) in other forums and it always brings up stories about government people telling a guy he can't have a garden, messing with their pets, always involving a war veteran and other onerous stuff that happened to somebody else twice removed. Yours is one of the few that's first-person.

Oregon: "You can remove it yourself or hire someone who can remove and destroy the stove for you. If you choose to remove your uncertified device take it to your local metal scrap recycler or landfill to make sure it is properly disposed and destroyed. Just be sure that you get a receipt as it is your proof of the stove's destruction and part of your notification to DEQ. "

But your OK to burn as much oil and gas as you like. Hmmm... Screams chicanery to me.

Oil and gas burning device is OK on bad air days.... or any day.:thumbdown::thumbdown:

How can the EPA laws allow "mother earth" to be polluted with something like pleasure boats burning diesel or gas, yet mandate basic rights, winter heat for basic survival, from wood stove owners, be restricted or banned? How does that work?

Dark are you saying this EPA law banning stoves does exist or just believing like Forbes hoped?

funny about going on the link that was placed in post #27 (thanks Rekees4300) however if you do comment you see this "Your comment will be viewable on Regulations.gov after the agency has reviewed it, which may be an indefinite amount of time. Use your tracking number to find out the status of your comment"

Funny, but that tells me that if they want to "review" your comments, they could wait until after this passes....
