I have never tried hauling the tractor that way JB. I have only transported it the way I have it loaded and it seems to works fine. I was told by the dealer that the trailer weighs about 1800-1900 lbs and the TLB close to 4000 lbs, probably chains and binders + fuel adds another 300 lbs. or so I should be grossing close to 6200 on a 7000 lb trailer.

The farthest I have to transport is usually around 6-7 miles.

Whatever you decide to buy you will find that and wonder how you ever got along without having a trailer I have had mine 4 years is in constant use. One of the best investments I ever Made. Not only for hauling Tractor but other stuff .

To partially hijaack an excellent thread I'm in a similar situation.
I really thought I needed an enclosed trailer to haul "stuff" - household effects etc. from Virginia to Mississippi. Plus I'm planning on buying a tractor about the size of the CK20 rimshot posted in the pictures here, like a Kubota B21.
So I was trying to find an enclosed trailer so I can take a while to pack it to move stuff, then when I finally get to MS I can haul around my tractor.
However, after more and more reading it seems an 18' flatbed with optional rails/sides like they have on trucks and trailers in Korea might be better.
Does anyone know of a link to flatbed trailers with optional sides like that?
And if I could move up to a Kubota L35 size would that fit on an 18' footer?
Is there anyplace on this forum or elsewhere that posts the length of equipment with various attachments hanging out front and off the rear?

thanks in advance.

I know what you mean about wondering how you got along with out something, after you get some new tool/equipment.

Is that an 18' in your picture? the machine is full forward, seems like there would be much tongue weight, but the truck's not sagging at all.

Looks good,
JB.

I do not know where to find that info. The best way is to get your tape measure and hit the dealers lot and take notes. I would say you will need a trailer 2' longer than the tractor you are planning to haul for balance purposes.

As for that mini truck not sagging I am sure he is using weight distribution hitch.

Been reading abot 16-18 foot landscape/car hauler trailers for around 1200.00. IMO that can't be much of a trailer. Maybe for hauling lawn mowers OK but considering just a set of tires is 400.00 how much trailer could you be buying? Plus since we all over load at some point seems like quite a risk for our prized CUTs to be on such a trailer. Over the years I have been different than most about my trailer purchases. I put more money into my trailer than I typically do the truck to pull it. It used to be a joke with me about how most people have the nice 30 thousand dollar truck puling the 1,000 dollar bea up rickety trailer and I've got the 1,000 dollar rickety truck pulling the 10,000 dollar trailer.

I would like to point out that My backhoe boom has been swung a little bit to the side just so nobody gets the wrong idea. Take note of that when viewing that picture. It is perfectly fine for me but ymmv. I don't believe if I had a rig any longer than my CK20 TLB that I would feel comfortable advising anyone they could get by with a 16 foot trailer. Try before you buy or make sure youi measure.

Another big part of his problem is, all these figures being thrown out here, and all from midwest to west, are useless here,, We have, at a minimum, double what you guys are quoting. Yes, that cheap a---- 1200 - 1600 dollar trailer would be 3500 plus here,, I have Bri-Mar 18 ft, 12000 gvw trailer, and to get it replaced today is 5600, plus, depending on what dealer I go to. For double this, the next time, if there is a next time, I will go to Kentucky and Gator made trailer for what I believe is probably one of the best made out there,.. It would then become worth it to travel the 1400 miles out and back for the money they charge here.

Yes, I see where the prices are all over the place. My good friend ordered a Bi-Mar 14,000# dump. I believe it was 14' long and I think it was $3800 2 years ago.

Glad I live where I do. Seems like Boats, Trailers, Campers, and lots of other stuff is 25% cheaper than the North East. Property taxes are cheap also. I have 3 acres with a 2500sq ft house and a 1664sq ft pole barn and pay $1300 per year.
