I have a rule concerning visits to the doctor and dentist, "Don't pi$$ off people who use sharp implements in their daily line of work; especially if they can be used on you."

I've been to the ER enough times to see the results of .... unruley people...

I'll bleed to death first before I piss off any of the people that work in an ER.
When they ask me how much it hurts.... oh it's just a little bit.. not much realy... and I'm pale as a sheet, sweating bullits and can't hold my hand still as I'm shaking violently... Not much pain at all doc.... I'm good, go ahead and help someone else that is in worse shape, I can wait.

Doc says, can you remove your ....

Broken limb dangling.... Sure thing doc... just a sec... (bite through lip) remove clothing... There see no need to cut anything or use any sharp knives...

Doc says... can you move it like this....

Bullits of sweat bead off the forehead... uh... sure.... just a second....
Close eyes.... swalow hard... grit teeth...... move limb to new position Doc wants.... and exhail before I pass out.... There.. how's that doc.. if you need it moved just let me know... I can do what ever you need.

In my thoughts I'm thinking that... if I don't do this... he is going to do it anyway and at his speed and I'll pass out and then I'll realy be in trouble.

Yep, my old neighbor got his 1963 Chevy truck stuck in the mud with the trash he puts in the bed all year. He goes to the dump once a year ..it is nasty. He comes over and asks for me to pull him out ..which I do. I pull him to the hard surface and he yells to stop. He said he will have the truck moved in a few hours. 3 days later it is still sitting on my property so I back up to the truck with my boxblade and push it BACK into the mud. Karma.

I've turned down a 60ac parcel for $75,000 in a beautiful Colorado valley with nearby lake etc. because it was part of a HOA. I'm not about to let a small number of neighbors determine what I can do with my property.

+1, putting up with the government is enough, sure as **** not going to let my neighbors have any input on what I do.

I recently looked at some auction home and in the fine print I see HOA dues 1K a month in dues.

No wonder people are giving these homes back to the bank. It's one thing not being able to pay the actual mortgage BUT the HOA dues on top of that - NO THANKS.

The thing is you could pay off a house off in 20-30 years and STILL have payments of the HOA for the next 100 years any way. like I said NO THANKS.

I recently looked at some auction home and in the fine print I see HOA dues 1K a month in dues.

$1,000 a month in HOASS dues is steep. Those houses have to be for the rich & shameless. Our dues are $105 per quarter, which is too much in my opinion for the busy-bodies at the Politburo to stick their noses in other people's business. Our dues also buy weekly trash collection, and that's what I write on the memo line of the check before I send it to them.

I was talking with one homeowner a few weeks back who was denied permission to build a Tuff-Shed because the architectural committee wasn't happy with it; although the homeowner was going to spend an extra grand to have the siding, windows, doors, shingles match his house. This shed was going to run $6,500! The HOASS suggested he have an outbuilding constructed and recommended that a member of architectural committee build it for him. Talk about a conflict of interest. The last copy of the HOASS meeting minutes I read said the HOASS was in the process of reviewing its decision on the Tuff-Shed.

I keep hoping the economy will turn around so we can get out of here without losing our shirts on this place.

What sucks even more is that HOASS taxes...err...dues aren't tax deductible the way property taxes are.

Oh it is ON now!!

Unfortunately it snowed the day of an HOA meeting where I had hoped to work this thing out, so I plowed his drive entry. But during the meeting NOTHING got worked out. Was a good shouting match though.. Kinda wished it had come to blows, because I haven't cracked a head in a while.

This guy thinks that because I asked the neighborhood if they wanted to pitch in for the lawyers fee that I'm trying to run the place. (Again the lawyer was not my idea, I'm just good at getting things done so I stepped up.) And he was pissed about a newsletter I had to write (because his wife couldn't do her job as secretary and quit a few weeks after signing up which left me to take it over) that included a couple of the HOA rules as required by the state. So shoot the freaking messenger...

Oh and BTW, his wife approved the newsletter before it was sent out to anybody. What a jack-hole..

I got the plowing gig again so let it snow!!! My wife and I have turned hatred for these people into a game now. We know they don't like us (or me anyway) so every time we see them we give a BIG over zealous smile and a vigorous hand wave.

When I put my name on a contract, even one such as for an HOA, I stick by that contract. And if I sign up to do something, I do it and follow the rules and directions given to me, even if I don't agree with them. Just a matter of principal I guess. And if he has a problem with that, then he can go south.
