Ever use your tractor for revenge?

When I sold the land (most of the lots was bought by hunters) the road was only passable by 4x4 most of the time.

There's a large part of me that would be okay with that. It would keep the prissy complainers from moving in next door and complaining about the smell of horses and the sound of a diesel tractor running at 10:00 at night.

xr2blz,

The lot was just to the west of you on Gunn I believe. We never made it all the way up there because of the road. We also looked at a house just down the hill to your north. The lot was at such an angle we didn't think it would be too good for our son. Because if he is anything like me he'd grab the first wheeled device he could find, aim it down hill towards the lake, an be doing Mach ten before you could say "Don't even THINK about it!"

Funny though.. We would have been neighbors. Still not too far from you even now. You know that big pole-barn of a church to the East of 23 just before the road turns East towards Berthoud? The Cul-du-sac at the end of the road that church is on (Nations Way) is an easement on my property.

I thought you own 46 acres?

Jeff

One morning I noticed a car parked on my property down near the old barn. The road runs close to the barn and I assumed someone had run out of gas and pulled off the road and gone to get gas. A few hours later it was gone, ok no big deal.

Then a few weeks later I see the same car parked in the same place and now it's obvious someone is using my property to park their car while they "visit" someone in the area. Strange, all the properties in the area have no shortage of parking. Now I'm a little annoyed. A few hours and the car is gone. This happens again a number of times and I never see the person coming or going.

Then one day I started a big project of clearing out and hauling away all the "stuff" that had accumulated behind the barn that I had been intending to get to for years, it was a two to three day project. The first day I made good progress and hauled a number of loads out and was pleased with the progress. The next day I get up intent on getting a lot done and guess what. That dam car is back, parked right where I need to park my trailer so I can load it with my tractor. Where the car was parked it didn't give me enough room to maneuver my tractor around the trailer without risk of hitting the car. It forced me to park my truck and trailer in another area on the other side of the creek about 200ft away. Now I'm more than a little annoyed, I'm pi$$ed.

First pic is where I was parked the first day close to the work area.
Second pic the location 200ft away.

Now I get back to work but I'm having to go an extra 200ft each way and that's doing bad things with my normally good mood, but each leg of the trip gave me plenty of time to work on creative thoughts of what I could do to fix this guy. My first thought was I could easily dig a big hole and bury that POS little car, but then that had potential negative consequences, so no that's not good. The next thought was to dig a big trench in front and in back of the car, would only take a few minutes, let's see how he likes being inconvenienced, Na I might bump or scratch the car and before you know it I'll be paying for a new paint job. Let's see, I could pile a large pile of dirt in front and back of the car, there's just no limit to the things you could do when you have a tractor. Na that's got the same problem as the ditch idea.

OH I know what to do!!!!!

Should have figured out what the owner was doing before letting them know you didn't like it.. Could have found the neighbor having an affair or something and parking their car out of the way so not to leave tire tracks in the drive..

Could have made it really interesting:
Wait until the other person snuck into the house, call the unknowing spouse, THEN block the car in.. Sit nearby with a cold one and a cammera. :D

mjncad: Out of curiosity, what does he want for the lot? I already have 35-acres east of Denver; but I'm curious as to what a patch of dirt closer to the mountains costs.

He paid around $ 135,000 in 1998 when I bought my 46 acres for $143,000. Last I heard he wanted $200,000 something but has no lookers. It was listed on MLS. Here's an old hit I think. COhomefinder | 3 Hertha Ridge Rd Berthoud, CO 80513 - MLS #483251 - Home for sale at Colorado HomeFinder

Glenn:

As I expected, the price is more than we could afford, which is why we went east. Not as pretty; but cheaper. We paid about $85k for 35-acres in late 2007 with electric, phone, and natural gas at the private road.

So this clown finally shows up strolling along talking on his cell phone, totally oblivious to the world around him, walks up and tosses something in the car and stands there talking on the phone still not aware of his predicament totally involved in the call. Finally he ends the call and started to get in the car when he finally notices the two dead cats in his way. It took him about a minute evaluating the situation before he was even aware that I was nearby working with my tractor. I just kept working. He stood there probably another ten minutes trying to figure out what to do. I just kept working. Then he began to try to wave at me to get my attention. He was beginning to understand his predicament and that he's got no choice but to deal with me. I just kept working at loading my trailer which by the way is 200ft away from where I'm working. So after about a half an hour I decide to get off the tractor and go over and have a chat with the fellow. Let's just say he was at least smart enough from the start to realize that giving me any crap wasn't going to be a good approach. He first asked me if the two tractors were mine and I told him they were. Then he asks me if I could please move them so he could go and I said NO! I told him I was busy trying to get my work done but because his car was parked where I would normally park my truck and trailer I'm having to drive an extra 400ft on each trip causing me a great inconvenience and if he was being unconvinced too bad, and I went back to work.

So I let him stand there another half hour or so and I went back and he apologized and gave me some big sad story and some BS about why he had parked there and that if I let him go I would never see him again. So I moved one of the tractors and he took of, by the time he left I'm sure it was clear to him it would be best that he not come back.

I never saw him again.

His story was something about helping a friend move and his friend not wanting the landlord to think there was more people living at that house. It all sounded like BS to me. The house was on the next street over and I didn't know anything about who lived there.
