If the HOA hires you and the ONE owner pays his dues to the HOA, how can you legally not clear his snow also?

The HOA pays me to clear the road. I cleared the drives out of the goodness of my heart (seat time).

Can somebody explain to me what a HOA is? Probably some sort of Homeowner association but why would one exist?
yes, a home owners association. They exist to force the alleged opinions of the "majority" on the few independent livers left. :rolleyes:

Never taken revenge ~with~ the tractor, but every now and again, when I ~really~ need it, and it's sorry 50-year-old parts don't want to work... I think of taking revenge ~on~ my tractor.:mad:

Generally, the people that buy into HOAs go in thinking that they will have final say on everybody else when in reality everybody else has final say on them. The only thing they have in common is the opinion that their opinion should count the most. I think those people pretty much deserve each other.
My daughter & SIL are trying to sell a nice condo that has 3 refusals because the co-op improvement fund is empty, no reserves, because a few absentee landloards won't pay their condo fees. Leaves the rest the option of suing each other or paying their own repairs, which it's self requires co-op approval. What a club!!! MikeD74T

Well that makes me a DINK I guess. :D Yet, I live on 19 acres and the house is smack in the middle, lake on the front, highway in behind, and nuthin but trees on either side. Its my own HOA, home owners acerage. :D

On to the revenge thing, if it were me, I'd consider this option;

When the snow flies and the driveways need clearing, when you get to their house, start to drive in, but stop...then back out, and drive on. Do this until they ask what you're doing. Just shrug your shoulders and say "You choose to back out of our agreement. I choose to back out of our agreement."

Easy enough. No? :rolleyes:

Whoops! :eek::eek::eek:
I misunderstood the situation, jnjpream. By all means! Go for it and leave the ONE driveway blocked all winter! :D:D:D
I doubt if a guy like that would "get it", even if it was explained to him in words of few syllable, but you would sure be smiling to yourself everytime it snowed!

call it what you want.. HOA, LOA, POA.. etc...

it's a way for people to be in your business. especially ht efounding or 'first' people in a subdivision.. or deed restricted community.

and don't think being rural prevents it. I own acerage in places that had POA/LOA AND deed restrictions.
