Dixstir,
A regulator can be bought on Ebay for 20 bucks or so. :) If they won't make it right, it could be that your warranty has expired...even though you never used the unit. Most items like this are throw away anyway after the warranty is out if there's a problem, regardless of brand. Or you could have bought from us...(hint hint).

Hey Mark I got a question on your Tig machines. Does Everlast offer a setup like Miller, a Tig runner package? You know water cooler, cart, the whole ball of wax?

Mark, I noticed a thread on the Everlast forum about storage teperatures for your units. I believe it stated that capacitors can freeze and the units shouldn't be stored at less than 20 degrees F. This might be something you would want to address here to save some aggravation - for owners and the company. I assume this doesn't just apply to Everlast products.

The working range of most Electrolytics go down to -30C or about -22F. There might be some problems as you get closer to that range. Thats pretty cold, and that would affect any electronic device that uses electrolytic caps.

I don't doubt your word, James, but I'm sure you can understand my concern when Mark (I'm not sure if it's "our" Mark) from Everlast stated 20 deg. F. Around here, I'm not too concerned about -22, but +20 is not all that rare. I brought mine into the house, just to be on the safe side - but no, I'm not going to use it in here.:)

We're not alone on that...

I might humbly add, that just as you would make preparation (I hope) not to leave it out in the rain/snow, you should also make preparation against temperature extremes. It does not make sense to me that the units would be protected only against ONE element of nature by its owner. Things like the displays and other relays with metallic strips and dielectric grease in them can stick or respond sluggishly.

Hey, sorry about missing this post somehow...
We haven't offered a package like this yet. I'd like to see us develop a super heavy duty cart first. The current cart is nice and serviceable...But I wouldn't consider it a "package" item first. It's not HF quality either, and its heavier...but we haven't really put it together with it yet. Our cart supply also has been somewhat inconsisten. We stock a good many of them, but never can tell when we will have a "run" on them. It's the craziest thing. We won't sell a cart for a month, then all of a sudden every customer wants one. We do make some package discounts if all is bought together. I always try to give a little extra break if the guys are buying large packages.

Hey, sorry about missing this post somehow...

I was trying to help you make a sale, and help a kid I know buy a Tig welder. Last summer I bought him a Tig rig, and had it shipped to him so he could start to learn how to Tig weld using his Hobart Stick machine. Well he got some Christmas money and wanted a real Tig machine, but a Dynasty is way out of the question for him at this time, so I was steering him towards Everlast. As most kids are, (even me at my age:laughing:) got in a big azz hurry and bought a 200-amp Longevity Tig machine.
