Well that's a bit of a buzz kill. My shop is unheated and it's supposed to get down to 17 this weekend. Does this mean that my equipment is 3 season? My radio has been down there for 7 years and I'm sure it has capacitors. Seems to be no worst for wear for the experience.

what size portable generator & amperage needed to run a everlast power arc igbt 200a. stick welder.

Candyman,

I recommend 8000 watts continuous, for best results, though you can get by with less. BUT you must have a clean power generator.

If the economy wasn't doing a 'graveyard spiral' I'd be checking into one of those 15KW diesels. It would be good to have dependable power for the tools on the bigger renovations. Used to see the floor sander guys go right to the panel with their alligator clips, but that wouldn't be good for 'ongoing operations'.. :laughing:

The basic diesels are ok for farm type work. But they are not clean power.

Hey mark. I was looking at your website, and I noticed in the mig section it said ''3ph mig welders coming fall 2010''. Well it jan 2012, and still nothing in that category. Might want to change that.

We are reworking the site this year. I am sure it will be part of what is revamped then. There are several hundred pages on the site. Thanks for the catch. That page isn't in our admin panel on our site, otherwise I'd change it myself right now.

There's a new PowerPro added to the family.

We致e been pressed by many hobby, and small shop customers to come up with a more functional and smaller PowerPro model than the current 200 amp model. Here is the result. Formerly we did have a smaller, PowerPro in our line, but did not promote it or stock very many because of its limited features. This new unit will be capable of all the basic controls and features of its bigger siblings in the PowerPro line. Its a neat little package for sure. Currently it is available in 240V only, but we do have future plans down the road to have it available for a dual voltage operation. Its output is 160 amps AC or DC on TIG, and 40 amps for plasma. It will also put out 140 amps for stick. Duty cycle at max rated amps should be 60%.

The units will be here in approximately 2.5 weeks and has been shipped from the factory.
