The PowerArc 140ST has been a very good seller, since its introduction. We are adding the PowerArc 160 STH as well. Both are Stick Tig welders. The 160 will have a High Frequency start, along with an available foot pedal and will be dual voltage as well. Rod capability is from 6011-7018, great for around the farm use, or in the shop.

The 140ST are improving with better 110V performance, with higher output, and the amp meter accuracy in 110V has been improved, which was a relatively minor issue before, but has been greatly improved. Internal unit protection has been improved, and heavier relays have been installed, to handle higher amp draws, in low or unstable voltage situations. Work leads on units going out now are 10FT instead of the 6ft ones before.

Mark, when will the new dual-voltage 160 be available?

In March I believe. We may have a few coming in in mid Feb. I will have to check.

On the PowerArc 200 and 300 units, what is the difference in adaptive arc force control and adjustable? The adjustable type seems pretty obvious, but how is the adaptive different?

and what is the difference between 'automatic' on the 140 and 160 and 'adaptive' on the 200?

Automatic and adaptive are the same thing, actually. These items were updated and a different term was used.

The "auto" arc force adjusts and adapts automatically for amp setting and arc length to maintain an ideal amount of arc force. It functions and maintains itself automatically.

Manual of course, gives infinite control over the amount of arc force you use at any given amp setting.

Mark:

To follow up 56FordGuy's post;

why is the PA 200 rated for 3/16" rod while the PA 300 is rated for 1/8" rod?

That is what the Everlast website indicates.

It's because the webmaster's cannot read or type apparently.
I just went into the Admin panel myself and made a few fixes. It should be more accurate now, on all the units. I found a few more issues while I was in there, so maybe things will make a bit more sense now.

I see the 300 has gone back to the special 6010 port rather than the combined port that the 200 has. What prompted that?
