extension spring that attaches to pto bracket and possibly to frame

belt came off cub cadet lgtx 1054 lawn tractor with 54 inch deck, when belt came off a spring also came off pto clutch ,not shure where it goes back. would appreciate any information

Picture would help. The only spring on my mower deck is the idler spring, that is the movable pulley that puts tension on the drive belt. Your OEM manual should show it. Normally they hook on to the idler arm and a hole should be evident and then to an adjustable eye bolt so it can be tensioned properly.

one end of spring hooks to pto clutch and other end ,i believe hooks to frame, i found some other posts regarding same spring and it appears it hooks to frame on right side with no hole for it to hook to

look in cavity under tilting seat - get full model # and s/n off ID plate/decal - google for "MTD manual archives" - enter requested info - d/l free parts list and owners manual - parts list diagram for mower deck should show you where spring goes.
