BX22
I am trying to sell my 2003 BX22 TLB, 60" MMM, Ag and Turf tires mounted on rims, 60" Land Pride blade. The tractor has about 380 hours and is in real nice shape (lots of shine to the tractor and no scratches or dings other than the BH and FEL buckets of course).

What is a fair price for this unit. I had it on Ebay, and didn't get my reserve. I thought that $10,500 - $11,500 would be about right, but the auction didn't get above $9,500. I approached my dealer about trading, and he offered $8,300. I though that was low, but I understand that they are taking some risk by having to keep it in their inventory, stand behind it when they sell it, etc....

I was going to relist it, but wondered if I was dreaming on the value.

Thanks for any insight.

The BX22 is now 3 generations old (23, 24, and now 25). If it only got to $9,500 on FleaBay and your dealer is trying to angle for 10% to 15% profit built into the machine for resale, your expectation may be off by $500 to $1,000.

Put another way, the value to YOU may not be the value to BUYERS, especially in the days of continued 0% financing on new machines.

If you don't need to sell it, just keep rolling and eventually, I suspect, somebody will think it a good deal. Just may take a year or two.

If you DO need to sell it, I would say that $9,500 would get it done a lot quicker than $10,500 and CERTAINLY $11,500. These are the days where folks hoard cash and a financing deal is FAR more appealing than a cash deal. Therefore, you're only having "bargin hunters" looking at your tractor. Folks with a need are probably going new.

A search of tractorhouse.com brought up three BX22's for sale ranging from $12.9K to $15K. Keep in mind that these are asking prices from dealers. Doesn't mean they'll get those prices, but they'll usually get more than a private seller since they can offer some level of support or maybe a 30-day warranty, maybe delivery too. I don't think what you're expecting is out of the question, but who knows. With the BX25's now out, your model is 3 or 4 generations old, which might impact a buyer's viewpoint. And of course, you need to be far enough away from new prices that the 0% interest is not a competing factor. Good luck.

Just yesterday I just sold my 2003 BX22 TLB on Craigslist.

It also had a 60MMM, High Cap Alternator, 585 Hours, Mint Condition, original owner - I advertised $12,500 and took $11,000.

My local dealer was going to give me a trade in value of $9,300. A dealer far away $11K (however his $ for a new tractor was higher than the local guy).

My $0.02 - in this economy - $10~$12K is a solid price for a BX22 in very good condition.

My BX was in exceptional shape and the new owner was very pleased - he wanted a very very good machine for a decent price (instead of getting into a new maching for ~$18K).

Good Luck!

I would not take less than 10k. $11,500 with the implements that you have is not out of the question. Your biggest problem is timing, wait until April and it will be gone in a weeks time.

Thanks for your input guys. Makes me feel like I'm in the ballpark on my asking price.
