This is not new news. Kubota has had 50% of the small tractor business for probably nearly 10 years now.

Using UCC data is very, very common. There is no reporting of sales to anyone but the AEM who keeps the data private. So analysts look at UCC registrations.

I care about accurate information, Your dealership is not the kubota prototype. Many are small w/ more lawn mowers than tractors. Deere stores are full blown AG dealerships. The referenced article doubted the UCC research accuracy. So if kubota is at 50 percent , simply prove it, and the 80 hp ceiling is a reach. The deere presence in my corner of the planet dwarfs kubota. Even kubota's recent entry in the big boy market M-171, would be under powered pulling a krone HD 1290 big pack baler, which is precisely why you share your lot w/ Fiat.

Given your keen interest in the topic, it seems to me that it is incumbent on you to provide the "proof." I'm sure that the folks at Messick's have better things to do. Evidence from a local area (sample size = 1) doesn't constitute "proof."

I gave away my copy of Dillman (Internet, Mail, and Mixed-Mode Surveys: The Tailored Design Method: Don A. Dillman, Jolene D. Smyth, Leah Melani Christian: 978471698685: Amazon.com: Books) when I retired, but I think I can "wing it" if you want some help in setting up your survey design.

I assume that the market share data from the AEM are available to the manufacturers. If Kubota's claims are misleading, it seems to me that JD would dispute the issue and claim "false advertising." Has corporate JD done so?
