MikePA:

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and lays duck eggs, in all probability it's a duck.

If my short term memory is still functioning a little bit (which, admittedly, in my old age and approaching senility it may not be), I seem to recall that you classified people into two categories, to wit: those who would know that the use of the "farmall" name is phoney, and those who would not, i.e. the ignorant. There was another post (don't recall by whom) making the point that use of farmall name was just marketing. All I did was to integrate the concepts of phoney and marketing and reach the obvious conclusion.

Sorry if anyone is offended by the facts. If I might be permitted to quote myself: If you advocate a position than can have only one possible conclusion, then you are, wittingly or otherwise, advocating the conclusion.

Sometimes, education (learning) can be helped by overstatement and/or bluntly stating the obvious in lieu of euphemism. Sometimes not. I will, however, grant you that a sledgehammer approach isn't always the best way to accomplish a given result.

Re: Farmall\'s are coming back!!!

Are you referring to the Farmalls? If so the dealers wouldn't know much because C-IH hasn't told them any more then what was posted on their sites. The new TC's are suppose to be released in November if my memory serves me correctly. I talked to the New Holland rep today at EFD's and the new compacts were one of the items we discussed. He didn't know when the rest of the TC's would get a makeover like the new sub compacts and TC 47/55 but I would imagine when the rest of the TC's get a makeover the Farmall's will be right behind maybe even ahead.

I agree with you, Robert. I think they will be a fine tractor. I have not heard much negative abou the DX or Boomer tractors, which the Farmall will be a facsimile of.

You're totally right about that !
But being as this isn't a "new machine " . Why is it that none of the dealers have a clue as to price , performance ,etc...
It's obvious that the upper levels of management are not up to speed . This should be one heck of a machine ! But as IH hasn't provided much info to the dealers , I have some serious reservation about their ability to support this machine in the long run . The CUT market is very competitive . I would have thought that if IH was going to join the fray, they'd have been a bit more agressive at marketing a new product .

Are they any less aggressive than AGCO or Case at marketing their product /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
If the product is built good and good value for the dollar I would like to think the product will be around for a while.

Re: Farmall\'s are coming back!!!

Case is International. As for why the dealers don't know much about it, it could be as simple as CNH is still working on it. It may be the same machine but with upgrades that are unique the the C-IH machines the the NH boomers won't have. NH has Supersteer but what does the C-IH machines offer that the NH doesn't. There was not much incentive for C-IH dealers to sell these machines when they have no real marketing advantage over their NH counterparts. I would expect the new Farmall branded machines to have something unique to only them and that the NH versions won't have it. It will give C-IH a marketing advantage to say their machine has such and such feature you can not find at any other brand. This is why I think the C-IH dealers don't know about the new machines yet, CNH has not told them because they are still finalizing the little details to set it apart from the rest. Only time will tell.
