Re: Farmall\'s are coming back!!!
MikePA:
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and lays duck eggs, in all probability it's a duck.
If my short term memory is still functioning a little bit (which, admittedly, in my old age and approaching senility it may not be), I seem to recall that you classified people into two categories, to wit: those who would know that the use of the "farmall" name is phoney, and those who would not, i.e. the ignorant. There was another post (don't recall by whom) making the point that use of farmall name was just marketing. All I did was to integrate the concepts of phoney and marketing and reach the obvious conclusion.
Sorry if anyone is offended by the facts. If I might be permitted to quote myself: If you advocate a position than can have only one possible conclusion, then you are, wittingly or otherwise, advocating the conclusion.
Sometimes, education (learning) can be helped by overstatement and/or bluntly stating the obvious in lieu of euphemism. Sometimes not. I will, however, grant you that a sledgehammer approach isn't always the best way to accomplish a given result.
