Farmtrac Thread

How about a separate thread for just for Farmtrac, similar to what was done with Yanmar, Massey, etc. Maybe some of the other brands as well, Montana, Branson. It would make Finding information much easier to have more brand divisions.

I could be wrong, but I got the impression that farmtrac, and a number of other names are all the same tractor made by the same Chinese manufacturer...just with different names and maybe different paint (not sure about the paint).

Henro, Farmtrac are build by Long. The smaller units are Mistubishi tractors from Japan, I don't know about their other sizes, but I know many of the larger ones use Perkins diesels from the UK. I think some of their stuff might be from India too? Most of it looks like older proven Ford designs, I've seen some of them, you just about have to look for the name to tell the difference between them an a Ford/New Holland.

I've seen some Long tractors and they look pretty nice. Wish I knew more. Where are Long tractors made? South Korea?

Surprises me to hear that a Japanese company like Mitsubishi would let their products be branded by another name, but on the other hand in today's world that does not really surprise me too much at all, now that I think about it, if it is the case.

Guess I am guilty of thinking that all the smaller brand names are likely to be Chinese... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif...too many for me to keep up with... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

One thing nice about TBN is that if you mis state something, someone will point it out, which I sincerely think is a great thing.

Now off to do a search for Long, Farmtrac and Mitsubishi...to find out what the real story is!

Henro, the Cub Cadet 7000 series is also Mitsubishi made, Cub & Mitsu have a fairly long relationship; they may also make the 5000 series??? Also, I'm pretty sure that Mitsu makes some of the machines for Mahindra too. Or maybe they used to?

I think the FarmTrac compact tractors are made in South Korea. Some run Mitsubishi motors and some run DaeDong (Kioti) engines
Some of the ag type tractors are made in India (I think)
My neighbor has a FarmTrac 360 DTC with a 4 cylinder Mitsubishi engine.
He seems to like it so far..

I think the compacts are LG units and the utilities are possibly made by Escorts in India.

LG is also marketing direct, now...

Mitsubishi seems to much better as a supplier. In the car business, they sold far more to DCX than under their own name...
