Favorite handgun caliber?

I can't hit **** with a pistol, I hunt with a bow and a scattergun.

Primary gun: .45 ACP. Carry everyday in a Wilson Combat CQB (yes cocked and locked)

Under cover gun: hammerless Smith and Wesson 640 in .38 Special +p

9mm Kurz is German for short, a 380 is a 9mm short. I have a PPK too, great little carry gun if concealment is a big issue.

.40 S&W for a carry gun. Usually a Kahr PM40, sometimes a Springfield XD40SC. I can get a 9MM or 357 SIG barrel for the XD and change calibers easily, although I've not done so yet.

Recently started shooting IDPA and plan to obtain a XD40 in the tactical model with the 5" barrel vs. the 3" that the SC has. Need the longer sight radius /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif to improve my hit count.

Just for fun I like my .22s. High Standard Citation, Ruger Mk II, S&W Mod 43 Kitgun, and a Baretta Mod 21A.

I don't have tha Snake Charmer that another poster made reference to, but I do have the Tamer. It's a H&R version of similar characteristics.

My favorite is my Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt with a 5 1/2" barrel. That gun rides with me n the truck and tractor very often and is on my hip when out and about. and yes it has a special place next to my bed all for itself! Love it with cor-Bon 265 grain bonded core hollow points!
I also like my Springfield XD-9 (9mm) with a 4" barrel. I am accurate with it and loaded up with Cor-Bon personal protection loads it has some stopping power!

9mm Glock duty gun w/ 45 rds on my belt.

40 cal Glock at home for wife 13 rds. I had to get 40 becuase it was the craze. I still like the 9mm

I prefer the 9mm due to capacity,low recoil,Cheap to shoot and its department issue.For legal reasons I prefer to carry what the chief issues including their ammo. If 40. or 45 were issued I would carry those without complaint.

I'd have to say .22 because it's cheap and fun to shoot. I have a Ruger Mark II with a bull barrel and it is quite accurate. I also have a couple of .32 revolvers, one is in the bedroom and the other is an older S&W Chief Special that I use as a carry gun when I go to the city. I had a .357 Taurus once but I sold it; that was a nice shooting gun. I'd like to get a 1911 but that probably won't happen anytime soon. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Kimber custom Shop concealed carry in 45 ACP. The most accurate handgun I've ever owned. I also have a Doug Turnbull US firearms revolver in 38 Spcl. It's pretty and fun! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anyone ever found a place/show/club where you can test drive guns? I've always drooled over many different guns but really want to try before I buy. Any tips on how to get to do some free testing and where to look would be appreciated.

I honestly haven't looked that hard. When I want to shoot I just go to the back woods (no need to join a club).
