Half my work is done on the beach so I needed the floatation when there but don't when I am on hard pack so thought that would give me both plus turning clearance with fel bracket and easier on the tie rods. Dealer wouldn't warranty anything with the front end cause I did it but the tractor would be almost worthless here without. Yes definitely on the traction with the fronts and not much if any on stability but the back more than make up for that. I have to take the duals off to get the tractor in and out of the skiff and it can barely get itself up the beach without them much less carry a load.

lets try that again pics didn't attach will try just one this time

I didnt know rear duals were an option. That is a beastly looking set up. I bet that little machine would really stick to the hillside. Thanks for the post of the oic.

The rears I got from unverferth.com and they are a snap to put off and on even filled. Just 4 J bolts although I only take them off to load in/out of the skiff as it is too **** tippy without. I am sure I would have rolled it several times without those duals.

........ It was like slow motion, the FEL falling into the truck side while I couldn't respond quick enough to move away.

I wish there was a way to practice for these events... some sort of loader hazard drill. The handful of times I've gotten into trouble with the loader, I have not responded appropriately quickly enough. I tend to just instinctively try to counterbalance the tractor with my body weight which is a pretty ineffective strategy. Once I even started to put my foot out like a kickstand.

I'm getting better at remembering to drop the bucket but I wish I didn't have to think about it.

Is there ever a scenario where it would NOT be appropriate to drop the bucket to the ground if the tractor begins to lose its center of gravity?

You guys need to get into the discussion about the 5 second reaction time, over in the safety forum I think.

This summer I was mowing around my pond with the 2920 and of course trying to get as close to the water as possible to keep from having to go back with the weedwacker. Slopes down all around the pond and when I went to back off at one point my right front tire slipped off a boulder which lifted the left rear tire-teetering the tractor. Well, there we sat and I knew I had one chance to hit the diff lock and try to back off. Un-did the seat belt to bail out and prepared to use the Kubota insurance. Luckily it worked. Well, we had a dry summer and that pond is down 5 feet of water which revealed a sheer drop-off where I would have gone in and maybe not come up. The lesson is, most of the time what you are doing when you get in trouble just aint worth it. Use your head, don't rush the job and walk away when things start to not go right. Only the pussycats have 9 lives

After dialing in some proper ballast for our loads, we upped the ante by really cantelevering some loads off the end of the pallet forks while at full FEL lift height (stock 11'), that is our new max FEL lift height of 16'-18'!!! Fortunately, we were working with one I-beam at a time instead of the eight square columns that I was carrying when I had the rear wheels off the ground.

It might seem akward, but it worked very well. :D I described and have pictures in another thread:
