Tractor
2001 John Deere 790 4x4, bar tires
for about 3 or 4 years. I've been threatening to wash my tractor for a long time (years!), but just never made the time to do it. I had a 4 day weekend for July the 4th, so today I made the time to wash it. First two pic's are with the loader and the chain bucket removed. The chain saw carrier is bolted on, so it stays on all the time.

The next two pic's are after the wash job. BIG difference!

It makes a SWEET armrest! You just have to be careful on them sunny days, it will scald your arm if you have a short sleeve shirt on.

Replace the black fabric with white. I have to work on roofs alot and have about got 2nd degree burns within 2min on my knees from black. The white roofs are alot cooler but really slick in winter. I mean dangerously slick

Curious about the new black seat too, that thing will get hot. Tractor looks pretty good overall.

When I made that tool box/arm rest, I had a thread on it here and someone else suggested using white fabric too. I'm good with the black though, I've learned to throw a small hand towel over it when I'm using it on the sunny days.

Actually, the black seat is the original seat. In one of the "before" pic's, you can see I have a JD black and yellow slip on seat cover on it, plus I have a nice seat cushion for even more comfort.

Looks like a new tractor.
About once a year I get the ambition to wash mine, so far this year it has not happened.:)

Looks good. However, my tractor never looks as clean as your first pics, even after I wash it. Maybe a little soap and a scrub brush might help but its so much easier with just the nozzle on the garden hose. Besides, it just gets covered with dust within 24 hours the way the wind blows around here and with all the exposed volcanic ash.

I DO wipe the dust off the seat and bird poop off the steering wheel before I use it, though. Does that count?

I don't understand how somebody can pay good money for a piece of equipment and not take the time to take care of it. My tractor gets washed after every use and still looks bran new. Same with any equipment I use at work. Use it, wash it, repeat.

OP looks good! keep it looking good lol

I wish I had all the free time you have! I couldn't imagine washing my tractor almost every day! If it's really a mess it might get the hose but generally it just gets air to blow off all the loses dirt, clippings, and dust, and that might not happen every time it gets put away.

Who said not washing a tractor isn't taking care of it? As far as I'm concerned that good layer of dirt keeps the paint from fading. It looks like his tractor looks brand new after going 4 years without a washing. I would be spending as much time washing as I did working if I did that.

All maintenance is current on my Yanmar & I've hit it with a leaf blower a couple of times. Does that count? I use mine for work. It ain't a cruise night queen.

You're welcome to drop by and wash mine. As long as you're at it you may as well wax it too.

Usually, by the time I finish working mine, I'm too tired to do anything but park it. The next day or two is when the necessary servicing is done.......might even blow the dust of the hood. Before winter it will definitely get some TLC.

Kebo, that is a fine job and beautiful machine.

I thought you California guys were out of water? Lol

I don't wash mine every day unless I finish whatever project I'm working on in 1 day. Maybe I should have said mine gets washed everytime it gets parked in between projects.

Yep. And the caked on bird poop from parking under the rafters in the barn creates a nice patina.
