Dang! A ripper tooth does sound like what I need. That 12" bucket is just spreading out the force to broadly. I'm looking at BroTek, but can't find the price for it. I'll email them and try to find out. Thanks for the suggestion.

On real thick roots you can also put that ripper (or try the bucket tooth) right on the edge of the root, then push and pull and you can rip off the root a little at a time. Hearing that root cracking is the most fulfilling sound I have ever listened to....snap pop....yea I got you sucker. I don't have the ripper tooth yet...most of my roots are pretty thin...about the size of the fore arm, and you can get them with the tooth on the bucket. It really is fun.

Good looking machine. I'm sure it will give you many hours of great service.

OK, quick update. I ended up getting a few things for the tractor. Most notably in these pics are the thumb from BXpanded and the ripper tooth from Bro-Tek. These things turn the backhow into something entirely new. I got a stump out in 20 minutes that the 12" bucket couldn't do anything more on. Love the tooth for the stumps and the thumb for grabbing them when done. Just thought I'd plug 2 great additions to the tractor.

Nicely done! I have been eyeing that ripper tooth as well.

Nice job - the thumb is invaluable as you are finding and the ripper tooth great for our rough ground.

Don't mean this in a negative way at all (had to get that across in a message) but I was just curious why you went with the BXpanded thumb and not the factory one from Kubota since you have the mount built in. Looks nice and well built

Welcome to the wonderful world of BX ! ! I have a BX2350 with FEL, 54" MMM, and 48" rear tiller. I work the daylights out of it on my 5 acres, and haven't been able to make it say "UNCLE" yet. I have 3 banks to mow that are 55 to 60 degree angle and about 20' top to bottom and about 100' wide. Clims them like a goat.

The more you use it the more you will like it ! ! !

yeah... nothing wrong with the factory thumb on the BX for sure. Well... other than I wish it were hydraulic! :D
