Moi? (pointing to self /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) Not me...I don't even like to climb stairs. No, I am just using my finely honed powers of deductive reasoning on the elements and data presented by Brents' pictures and commentary. My conclusion is, well....let's see what Brents has to say.

( Nice aerial shot. Look to the right of the bridge and you will see the driveway.

More pictures to come later. )

That's a nice looking site, Brent. How much of the wooded area to the left of the creek will you own? That looks like hours and hours of "fun and adventure" clearing Gator trails. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( Your 86 yr old grandmother should have known the neighbor was on 1.5 acers of her property. Never mind the guy was on her property, she should have known, GIVE ME A BREAK !!!! )

She leased property to the guy for his cows, he fenced in part of her property. When he got rid of the cows the fence never came down. He put his property up for sale and included the the 1.5 acres of hers. The property in question was in a valley, not right next to her house where she was seeing it every day. When we found out he had his place up for sale we contacted our lawyer who filed a liz pendance (spelling?) which means they put a hold on the sale. Because the guy had already signed a contract for another house he had to cash out an IRA and it cost him about $30,000 in taxes. He filed a counter suit for that because he said we were meddling in his business. The judge told him our case was legit and he got no money but he got to keep the 1.5 acres via adverse possesion.

( I see from that air photo that you also bought an air plane to go with your tractor )

No I did not get an airplane, that was taken from a helicopter that belongs to a friend of mine.

Here is a shot of the basement after it was dug. It is not a full basement, it is the width of the living room but goes from the front of the house to the back wall. It also goes under the front porch. There is a storm shelter under the porch and the concrete block of the storm shelter is filled with concrete. Of course shortly afterward the basement was dug we got alittle rain.

We decided to go with underground utilities. I had to dig a trench 260 feet long, 4 feet deep. I did this with a Deere 4310 with a Koyker 3 point back hoe. It wasn't too bad unti I hit rock.

After the basement was dug and got muddy, the builder dug the mud out and added dry clay and smoothed it out with my little Tonka toy.

Then they started laying block. It took the entire month of July. Not that it was complicated, it was hot and they knocked off around 12:00 every day and didn't work any Saturdays.
