Side door ready to be installed. We got a fire door from a factory which was just slighty wider than a sheet. this meant that only one sheet had to be cut in order to fit it in. its quite hard to cut the sheeting really straight so the less cutting the better. We made a steel frame around the door and welded it to the horizontal bars. the timber frame was then screwed to the steel frame to fix the door in position. The door really slowed production but im glad we put it in now.Saves having to open the big doors in order to get in

picture from inside the shed. The two perspex sheets in the roof give the shed good light. Still have a lot of work fitting out the shed but the majority of it is finished. Now its time to try restore the ATV seen in the picture and have some real fun. The shed turned out well and its great to have something good to show for all the time and effort. approximate cost of the complete project was about 2500 euro- $3000 which includes all steel, concrete, sheeting and hiring of diggers, wacker plates and the likes. The only tools really needed for this project were the angle grinder and the welder and a drill for the screws.

Super job Rgillard! You guys really knocked out that project in short order. I noticed in a couple of the pictures that it looks like you painted the tubing after it was all welded up! I thought I was the only one that would do that! But I guess that maybe it is wet enough in Ireland that this is a necessity?
Here in Texas, it probably isn't necessary, and is only done by people that are a bit on the "****" side. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
What is the slope of your roof? I am scared of heights and always worry about sliding off a metal roof so I've always kept my metal roofed barns at about 3/12 or so. Looks like your might be steeper than that! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Again, super job. Looks like it turned out very well and by doing it yourself you obviously got a lot of building for the money!

Painted the shed because it is quite damp round here and didnt want it going all rusty. Also we are quite **** also so everything has to be just right especially when neighbours call round to try find fault. The slope on the roof is about 25 degrees as far as i know but i also know its steep as i had a close call when cutting the angles on the gable ends. not good when the legs go from under you whilst using a grinder. Thanks for your comments anyway

Fair play for finally building the workshop, I've heard so much about it over the last four years that i'm delighted to see a picture of it actually finished. It looks good apart from the monkey!! I hope to put a few of my own projects up on the site for you to have a look at.
