So, I'm thinking about looking for a used snowblower in the New England area. I've been checking in Uncle Henry's each week. Does anyone in this area have other sources of information?

Good luck.

Anything on a dealer's lot will be so close to new price, you'll struggle not to add a couple hundred bucks to the price and get the new one.

I have seen a few used ones around. Asking price was practically new price. Not worth it in my book. Hopefully you'll have better luck. Even the ones on eBay are getting big bucks.

A few weeks ago a local dealer had an auction sale to clean up the yard before snow flies. I was successful in getting a 7 and1/2 ft blower for 500 bucks. It needed a couple welds here and there but works otherwise. Maybe by scouting your local papers you'll find a similar sale in your area.

There has been a few in our local paper (Union Leader), most recently a 60" unit. The NH Market Bulletin, put out by the state has a 72" McKee for $750. You just have to keep looking. What size are you looking for & what part of New England are you in?

You already know this but I'll remind you you should have looked in April.

Sorry but I had to get in my licks. My wife hammered me for shelling out cash on a plow last spring. Of course I saved a bunch...

I live in Amherst, NH. I want a snowblower at least as wide as the tractor (48"). The dealer is selling Blizzard (apparently a no name brand) blowers,$1600 for 54". There were a few old blowers in the attachment area. The salesman said they were junk and I wouldn't want them. I'm not certain that's the case however.

I picked up a 6' Lands Pride rear blade. It wasn't very expensive and it seems like it will be very useful. I can relax a little and take my time looking for a good used blower at a decent price. The snow thing covered with the blade and bucket.

I found mine this summer on eBay at 60% less than the cost of new and it looks new. I paid $1000 for the BX2750 blower with the quick hitch and pto kit. The dealers sell this for aproximately $2500. Now isn't the time to looking for bargains, but in the spring when no one wants them. Now is the time to look for boats if you want a bargain.

Go to your local Cumberland Farms or other convenience store and buy the "Want Advertiser". If you can't find one in there cheap try a yard sale or moving sale.

I've got a Blizzard 64" snowblower, I think it's well made. It does work well. Check their website, www.radinter.com, they seem to be a major supplier of snow removal equipment in Canada.

Blizzard is NOT a no name brand. I notice that Chappell is carrying them this year instead of the Pronovost Puma which I got from them last year. I live 15 mins from you and have a 64" Puma for my B2710. I paid $2000 for it installed with a hydraulic chute rotator.

A year ago during the summer and fall, I looked long and hard for a decent used blower with no luck. I eventually ended up buying new. As others have pointed out, now is not the time to be looking, spring time is.

If interested, I have a 48" Farm King 2 stage, 3 point, cat 1 snow thrower that I am selling. We do not get the Big deep snows here in Iowa and has been used very little.
I would be willing to crate it up & ship it.
If interested email me & I can get some pictures.
I won't put a price here as I do not no if I can or cannot.

I forgot this in the original post. It has a hydralic chute also.

I'd be happy to sell my 2001 Sears 9.0hp 2-stage walk behind.
