Glad everything worked out, sounds like it was an E ticket ride.

Have to keep the ash thing in mind since we burn regularly as well.

We use ash too. But watch out for staples in the boxes. They do a dandy job on tires. Ask me how I know.

Boy, does it get any better than this?

First, you get to tell a really cool story. Glad it worked out for you O.K.! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Next, you get ALL kinds of great tips and suggestions to help solve your problem, along with quite a bit of sympathy and understanding. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And finally, one of the suggestions leads to even MORE seat time! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ah, life is good! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

So I'll start scooping the ashes up with the FEL and recycle them on the steepest part of the drive instead of dumping them back in my garden.

...and just think Mike, you'll be able to plant tomato plants along the edge of your driveway in the spring and pick tomato's as you drive in. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Garry how right you are. Any scenario that ends well and calls for more seat time can't be all that bad now can it? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Don I'm also thinking those tomatoes lining both sides of the drive this summer might add a nice country touch as well. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( I remember seeing Samantha's Tracker on the half spin. She was still standing next to her car with an expression of terror on her face as I was now heading for her car.

By the way, Samantha told me after it was all over that I would never have to ask her to park on the high side of the drive again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

The worst part of this whole thing is someone say it happen. Man Mike you just can't allow that to happen. I don't know if Samantha is your wife or one of your children but you just can't allow them to see this. They will never quit harrassing you with it.

Yeah and who am I to say anything after backing into the garage door with my tractor as the door was going down. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Glad no one got hurt /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Salt and sand mix works the best, The salt melts a little hole that gives the sand a place to lay so the wind will not blow it away.Might be time to think of some type of spreader attachment.

Murph Samantha is is my 24 year old step-daughter. She's a bright college kid and she will take advantage of this incident since I kid her nonstop about her driving abilities. She totaled her last car without even a scratch to herself.

Samantha said that she was actually frightened for me. Said I sit so high in the tractor that she was afraid it was going over on its side in front of her. I really have to say that thought did not even enter my mind. The tractor gave me no indication that it was ever going to do anything but slide.

Pine,
I know exactly what you mean.
I've been on several 'slides" on my hilly asphalt. I've now got chains.
As another suggestion, coal ashes are usually much better than wood. (if you can get them)
Another good item is limestone "P" gravel or anti -skid mixed with calcium.(if you have limestone in your area)
I've gotten several tons in the past. When the truck is dumping, simultaneously empty a couple of 80# bags in the gravel.
It's always there ready and won't freeze into one solid mass.
