Will be confusing to the haters by telling about your actual experience and 8 years on TBN.
I guess you look at it differently than I do.
He had a turbo failure so the DPF filters also needed replaced.
Not an issue for him since it was luckily still under warranty.
If it happens after warranty the owner not only needs to replace the turbo on his own dime, but possibly the DPF also due to other failures.
Sounds like a lot of additional $$ to me once the warranty's expire.

Lucky it was still under warranty is all I see.
If the turbo had a seal issue after warranty the owner may need to replace the turbo + the DPF on their own $$ is what I see.

Again, most of my "regen" experience is from trucks, and seldom are they a problem under warranty, due to the stuff being covered for 500,000 miles.
Lets see how this pan's out in a few years when the tractor manufacturer starts selling you the parts to fix this added feature. (Has anyone priced any of the parts?)
The John Deere I own is approaching 8,000 hours and still runs great. (28 years old). The Kubota is a little shy of that, at almost 799. Wionder how it will be doing in 25 years? At what cost will the added parts equal over the life of the tractor and how will it affect re-sale value? My older tractors aren't even in the same ballpark as those two, so I won't mention them.

I have a new L3301. Has had around 3 regens in 40 hours. Has not caused any issues. It's a hydro so running increased rpm is not an issue to get temps up for regen. If it was manual like my L3830 that would be much harder to do.

I prefer the L3830. No emissions and it smokes very little. Love the tractor.

I originally bought a L2501 which has no emission control. But the thing stunk, poured smoke when it started and was loud as heck. So Kubota agreed to trade the L2501 for a L3301. It is much quieter and doesn't have that sickening Diesel smell. I hope it continues to run well.

Engine RPM for hydro tractors is more like running a BobCat or skid steer. Higher RPM pumps more hydro fluid and makes tractor operate better and prevents hydro motor bog.

I agree with John Thomas. Too many arm chair experts out there about Diesel regens. Comparing a Kubota tractor to something else is not a fair comparison. I'm not thrilled to have regens mandated by the EPA on small diesel tractors. But there's not a whole heck of a lot I can do about it.

Why do people who talk about other people on the internet that disagree with them "haters?" It makes little to no sense.

They disagree with you; they don't hate you.

Then someone throws in a personal attack and it escalates. What ever happened to having a discussion? We used to do that all the time. These days it seems as if a fight is the inevtable result when people disagree. The world didn't seem to do that all the time until the last 30 or so years. It coincides with letting children communicate with the world before they learn to interact with one another. The disappointing part is they are going to be running things in the future, without the bnecesary social skills to be actually doing it well.

Having been on the net for almost 40 years it's changed a lot. Today anyone and everyone has entry, the good, bad and ugly...

Nothing really changed that much... the internet just exposes us to alot more of what has always been going on for years.
Stupid people still breed with stupid people, and more people can make the hate larger because of all the access to it.
All the internet did, was connect the dots.

Or... all it did was connect the iDiOTS. :D

The OP was just a mention that a first regen for him was a no event, everything went smooth.
It is after other comments questioning the worth of diesel particulate filtration in general...
I have no interest in discussing merits of clean air with science deniers.
Too many folks seem to feel they should have opinions on things they have little if any experience with.
I do not own a Kubota tractor with DEF, that may change, I do however have that system on heavy equipment, and exactly like taking lead out of gasoline in the 70's we are taking as much pollution out of our diesel fuels as we can.
It didn't happen over night in the 70's and it took Many years of engineering before we came close to getting gasoline engines close to right. With every new generation of gas engines there are improvements, most are the results of mandated change, if you look at the 'excuses' why we shouldn't have removed lead you will see it is the same kind of 'argument' offered today about diesel particulates... The only way we collectively will do anything to improve the future is if we are forced to do it.
I may as well also state the obvious, I also appreciate hearing first hand experience and few on this board have had the experience of actually owning And operating some 20 different models of my favorite tractor brand,Kubota.
I enjoyhearing about new experiences, new tractors, and helping with occasional problems when I am able. There are some that also like drama in these forums, I don't much care for it and have appreciated the owner of this forum doing his best to keep it out... For those in this thread simply looking to 'stir the pot', myself, I wish you would find another place to do it.
And for the OP thank you for stating your actual experience with your First Kubota Regen. KennyV

That's true but there is the block feature which allows me to never see any posts by certain individuals and it is great. Click their name and hit the do not view button.
