Bob, you are partially right that a crack on the hose is not grounds for replacement, but consider this. When you have a cracked hose, you have lost your moisture barrier. Moisture can now get in to rust the steel wire, and it almost guarantees a blowout at the rusted wire area. I have seen it happen on the PT, and I have seen rusted areas burst open on many pressure washer hose. If your hoses start to crack, you might extend the life of the hose by wrapping the cracked area with some electrical tape. On hoses left out side, UV rays will damage the rubber, and when you flex them, they will crack. An added safety margin is available by purchasing 2 wire or 3 wire hose, although not as flexible, it is much stronger.
Has anyone purchased any replacement hose from PT. I am a little curious about the quality, how many layers of steel, price, exact fit, etc.
