Has anyone used the front end loader hydraulic connections to run the offset flail mower? I would need another 4 feet of line and a 180 degree redirect to do it. Support the lines in a way they do not get damaged is a concern too. I have 1 outlet on the rear of the tractor now. Offset flail takes 2 outlets. I am running a 2565 Mahindra, the frame is made by TYM.

Hello lcalverson13,

OK, let's start at the beginning.

What brand of flail mower do you have or are intending to buy??

Is it a boom mounted flail shredder/verge mower with a tilting mower
or a simple side shift flail mower?

Candidly, you will be many miles ahead and have many fewer problems
if you have the dealer install a second pair of remotes on your mule.

I would be very tempted to use the loader lift to operate the tilt part of the offset so as to have the float function available.
To my knowledge none of the compact tractors have a float option for the rear remotes. Most of the offset mower manuals will recommend the float for the tilt of the mower head for when running it on the ground.

Yes, it works very well. That's what I've used since I bought my ditch and bank flail. The float position on one of the channels is recommended for the tilt function, and very useful.

Having both offset and tilt functions on the FEL joystick is very handy. It doesn't take long to get used to the new function of the control.

I'd never consider installing an extra remote, or even using the one you have.

The dealer I bought my flail from provided extension hoses and fittings to connect to the FEL outlets.

It does mean you have to remove the FEL when mowing, but for me that's not an issue because I've always removed it for mowing to improve visibility and maneuverability around the many trees in and around my field.

I added some more rear remotes (5 now in fact - it's the same work to have 2 as to have 5). I considered using the FEL connections, but I generally keep the loader on, and wanted to be able to control both.

Changing rear remotes to a float-type is not hard, if you've done it before.

My L series Kubota has 3 rear remotes and does the job! I tried to convince myself to use the front loader hoses idea but quickly figured out that was just not the way to go. Rear remotes are not very cheap but they are the best solution.

Thanks for the info, I will keep it in my mind.
