Does anyone know of a good flight simulator program for the PC? I'd like to purchase one, but don't know diddly about them.

I am a licensed pilot. My primary flight instructor used Microsoft's Flight Simulator for some demonstrating purposes. It is not a log-able legal simulator, but for demonstration purposes it is good. The new version (2004?) in combination with rudder pedals and a yolk is still very realistic behaving. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Av8r2230!

I ran a search and found MS Simulator 2004 for $29.00. I was thinking the program would be more expensive. Does that sound right? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sounds right. It is very important, though, if you want to learn from it in a real manner, not just play, you must get a controller of some sort. Best would be the yolk and rudder pedals, next would be a good "feedback" joystick with rudder capability, and cheapest and last is a joystick with rudder capability. I have the last (wish I had money for the first). I spent $30 at Wally-Mart on a "Logitech Extreme 3D PRO" joystick. Now I have to upgrade to Flight Sim 2004 from 2000.
