Raise the front of the mower a bit. Raise your lower links so they don‘t hang as low to decrease the pitch of the mower

If your 3 point lower links won't stay where you set them, use a chain to set the mower height:

Welcome to TBN. Remember, you can adjust the top link to change the "angle of attack" for your three point implements.

I put gauge wheels on the front of my mower. About a 5" steel rigid caster. They keep the skids about an inch off of the ground and keep them from digging in. Through bolted to the deck. It makes moving the mower around the barn a lot easier too.

I have some lawn under trees that's too rough for zero turn because of roots, fallen dead limbs, cyprus knees, etc. So I tried the bush hog. If I sharpen the blades, it looks pretty good, but it scalps the ground whenever I turn, hit a bump, etc. If I set the hog up higher, the grass looks like it needs cut.

I have a quick hitch, but I took it off because it weighs about 70 lbs. and I think it keeps the front end from floating.

The dealer set the back wheel low because he said it would blow the stuff out the back. I raised the wheel a couple notches so the mower lays flatter and that seems to help a little.

If you want to cut short and make it look nice, some cutters just are not turf friendly. They will dig the sod or peel it when turning. I've been there. They just don't work like a finish mower that has the anti scalp rollers. I have always thought that the skids from a snow plow attached to the front corners might allow it slide around regardless what direction it is swinging.

Also... Depending on the particular mower, there may be different blades available that have an offset to cut lower. Then you can raise the deck a little to avoid dragging.
At the end of the day though, it is a rough cut machine. Never going to cut like a finishing mower, or finishing flail even.

Chains come into use in many ways... One way for me is keeping rear ballast from creeping down when totally engaged in what I am doing with FEL (and not paying attention to ballast) ....

The funny thing is in your upper picture chains are installed completely wrong, chains are supposed to lock in keyhole bracket and hooks go to implement.... That way they are universal to whatever is on 3PH...

I actual made mine up from "parts" to stabilize my QH....

I have a square front mower, I mounted the wheels as far forward and to the outside as I could, against the front lip and the side edge. To mount them I drilled four 1/4" holes through the deck and used four 1/4"x1" bolts with a locknut and a washer on each side. That wheel is 7-1/2" high, my deck is about 6" high so it boosts it about 1-1/2".
