I'm in my steel toes if doing any kind of work. I switched from Wolverine Durashocks to the Red Wing king toe composite about three years ago. 2 pair of boots every year. 1 insulated, 1 not, both in 8" lace up. Georgia Farm and Ranch flat soled Wellingtons for kickin around. I think I've had the same pair of "tennis shoes" for about 10 years.

I know I'm in minority here because I have a size 7 shoe, so if I'm wearing my tennis shoe (sneakers) and it's wet out my foot has been known to slip off the clutch. Only once has this caused a close call, but a tree stopped the tractor. :D:thumbsup: Also I have a bad habit of kicking things around and the work boots seem to help. My work boots are Red Wing motorcycle boots with steel toes. Even with mud they still provide a nice grip on the clutch.

A pair of red wing will last about 5 years . last year purchased a brand (Oshkosh) Sp.?
and with in a month noticed the heal and soles were about gone . uppers still good.when find some one who still resole shoes will get him to do so.

Ah one of the few benefits of being small. The last pair of work boots I had lasted over 15 years. They would have still been ok to wear, but my feet grew a little.

that's one reason I like cowboy boots. the heel provides a positive stop against the clutch or brake pedal.. less chance of slipping off completely.

I work on hard surfaces and climb ladders and such each and every day. They are also abused in the water, mud, and other stuff while cleaning out the barns. I think me being 6'6" and 320lbs has something to do with them wearing out quicker too. I flat out abuse my boots. Wife hates being with me at church and other places with my worn out boots. I think they are comfortable.

Since my farm is muddy most of the time (except in winter, when it's frozen) I need waterproof boots. I usually wear rubber slip on boots that I get at TSC for $19.95/pair. They usually last about a year. When I need something sturdier, I wear Walmart Hubert workboots, as they're waterproof. I got tired of expensive workboots lasting only a couple of years. I wear my Hubert boots almost every day, and I've had them for almost 3 years. Not bad for a pair of boots that cost me about $30. And they're comfortable, too.

Usually an old, worn out pair of running shoes. Yard work is their last job before going to the trash.

If' I'll be working in the brush, like cutting trees, etc., I will wear work boots.
