I vote for new conduit too. I believe he'll have difficutly pulling out the old cable, and imagine it will be impossible to pull out only one conductor, it the cable run truly is 80+ feet long. Generally, the individual conductors end up pretty intertwined over such a length. Without a way to pull in new, I see no way to use the existing conduit. Further, I doubt seriously he can be successful pulling in new regardless. I'm not sure how they even did it the first time. That cable has to be crammed in that little 3/4" conduit as it is. I believe there is no way he will ever get anything any larger in there over the 100 foot distance. I say, new conduit or direct bury just new conductors.
