Not to worry about the paint, at the start of every snow blowing season I spray paint the chipped paint. Do the first stage, ( auger) and then do second stage,(fan), you can buy @ TSC. Front blowers with two stage are the nuts, snow does not stop them, but remember to do all required maintance and it will run just fine.

Ive thought about it but my back and neck would take a beating! Im an old man at 31 ;)

amg, here is a thread that I started regarding front versus rear mount snowblowers;

Rear versus Front mounted snowblower - TractorByNet.com

One thing I heard (to my surprise) was that the sturdier B2789 rear mount blower can also be front-mounted, so if you are really not happy with your 2750, perhaps you can swap it for the 2789?

I have since took a giant cresent wrench and hammer and straightened it out to factory spec. Is that turbine wear normal?

Mine are both totally silver!!

In float mode, the blower sill sit on the skid shoes- however you have them mounted.

If it were me, I would sit about a quarter to half inch off flat, to accommodate the gravel. You can force the blower down (and raise the front wheels off the ground) to scrape the pavement better but keep in mind, you lose your steering!! I do it in 30-40 foot runs.

If your blower is new, why not use fluid film on the chain?!! Some use motorcycle or bike chain lube, as it is supposed to cling. In the spring and fall I run the blower slow and pour a little 30 weight right on the chain!!

I have a blower that was new this fall,so far I have about 9-10 hours with one broken shear pin. I clear approx.300 ft. of gravel lane with some ballast rock. The first snow fall was cleared with the blower tilted back and the skids set to hold the blower up higher than normal.
After the first go I reset the blower angle and the skids so that on a level floor the cutting edge is up about 1/2 in.
I am not seeing the damage that you are, however this may not mean much as the blower I have is a rear mount ( 60" Buhler / Allied) on a BX 2200.
I lube my chain every second time out with motorcycle chain lube.
By the way I can use a rear mount because I am just a kid at 70.

99% of the time, damage such as that are the result of rocks, wood or other debris getting pulled in.

Normal, I would say yes for most.

Blower is great.

Blower with remote chute controls is like heaven

Blower with remote cute controls and a cab is not to be matched.

I must have hit a rock and for some reason the sheer pin for the blower didnt go off in time. The impeller literally destroyed the housing to the point where the impeller was locked up (two of the three fins were outside of the "housing" causing it to lock. all the paint broke on the welds. It was a mess.

I took it down to my barn and with the precision of a 20 lb mallet, managed to get it blowing snow again. I do have KCC insurance on it with a 250 deductable, but im sure the dealer would have just bent everything back, and maybe put some paint on it. I have since picked up a bag of sheer pins, both for auger and impeller.
