For those of you with snowblowers on your BX

I still havent heard anything from my dealer yet. I definetely got screwed yesterday morning. We got another nasty storm and had over 2 feet of snow and drifts in my driveway. Both of my vehicles were stuck beyond belief. I had to hand shovel for 2 hours just to make a small path to get one of the cars out to be able to get to work. Long story short, I got to work around noon, with a broken back and numb shoulders/arms. Timing is something that was never on my side!
Oh dear!!.
Wish I was nearby- I'd give you a hand.

Ah question if you have the JD with a blower why didn't you use it instead of the old arm strong method? Not trying to be a smart *****.
I had an experience similar to your first failure on mine when it was new 3 years ago. The dealer had the shorter shaft in stock and thought it was the correct part, but fortunately we compared the two and he confirmed that the longer one was required. Had to wait a week, but have had no issues with the new shaft since.

Ah yes....that got conveniently passed down to my father when I got the Bota' who lives 7 miles away, and since I havent got my truck anymore, had no way to transport it
. Hopefully like many people in this forum have said, the snow is over with, crossing fingers. I can finally see grass and asphalt at my house. Looks like dealer is going to give me a brand new unit. By the time I get it back, it will be ready for storage! Makes me not want to use it ever and keep that brand new paint on it!
I am going to keep my eyes open for a cheap used walk behind for next year, in case this happens again! I used to have an oldy but the engine blew in it.

that would drive me crazy looking at a new one and knowing i gotta wait till next year! But it sure will be pretty for a while! I would double check the oil and grease just to be sure.:thumbsup:

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I finally got my tractor back with a brand new blower unit on it , complete with new mid pto driveshaft. Dealer was very courteous and the insurance claim was seamless. Total cost: $250.
I think before next season, im personally going to walk my long driveway and remove everysingle rock that is bigger than my thumb in hope of this never happening again. Its so fresh and brand new I dont even want to use it

Glad to hear that it all worked out for you. Lets hope you dont need that snowblower until next year.
