Try contacting ( pumpserviceguysc), he is a injection pump specialist.

Does your glow plug indicator glow after about 10 seconds of turning the key to the preheat position?
All of my 10 series tractors, even if it is warm out, require a preheat to start.

As other have mentioned, the injection pump uses the same oil that you use in the engine.

You may want to start a new post in the ford forum, I think you may be able to request this post to be moved to that section.
Yes. The glow plug indicator coil burns red after about 10 seconds.

Thanks.

There should be an oil overflow pipe on the back side of the pump..
Most of them are self contained oil and u have to add it.. it’s usually 5oz.
I'll have another look at it. Thank you.

I can see the drain plug (slotted screw) and the fill cap (a horizontal hex bolt), but haven't looked behind it. I'll open the fill today and make sure it's topped off.

DO NOT LOOSEN THAT SLOTTED SCREW.!!!!
It’s NOT the drain..
It’s actually holding part of the governor together...
Your pump doesn’t have a drain and full screws..

Head is warped, exactly same thing happened to mine.
Took head to a machine shop for surface grinding, new gasket and problem solved

Before you pull the head you should do a leak down test to ensure it is a leaky head gasket.

Search for "Diesel Injection Pump Repair" on-line in your area. Find a local shop and ask for advice on the best way to diagnose the problem.

I assume you drained the engine oil?? If so let the drained oil sit for a day or two. If it is a leaky head the coolant will seperate from the oil; if it is diesel contamination it will stay (mostly) mixed.

I haven't seen coolant signs in the oil yet. Just fuel. Radiator is full up still. How would you do a leak-down test on this tractor?

I'll search for pump repair in my area.

Thanks

Fuel injectors, with time, leak diesel fuel into the crankcase. This is a real problem as it breaks down the lubrication qualities of oil and destroys moving parts. If you have a copy of your service manual, it has a section on rebuilding injectors.

Rebuilding the injectors might be a place to start then.

I've noticed that there are no suppliers for the 10-series injectors. But, other than the crush washer at the bottom, are there parts that wear out that need replaced when rebuilding the injectors?

Thanks for the reply.

I believe there are o-rings that break down. Check with an injector shop. They may be able to cross match the parts. I had this problem in my duramax. I haven't noticed it in my ford 1210 yet.
