Looking at your pictures, and your woods....
I have a $50 idea for reaching in to the woods a little. If you had a good 50-60' rope (or as long as you feel like fooling with) and a rope pulley, you could tie off to a log, then put the rope through the pulley on your post hole frame and run the rope back to a close tree and tie it. Drive away until the log meets your tractor and chain it up then cut the rope loose and off you go.
I've had crazier ideas 😆 but every foot you drive will draw the log up 2' if I'm thinking clear.
That's a good idea, but the pictures above show parts of the woods that are a lot more open than where I need to pull the Scots pine from. I won't be able to drive any direction I need to. I guess I could use this method and/or just a snatch block and drive whatever direction I am able, but the path is windy and the rope would be rubbing on many trees as I drive down the path to try and pull 50-60 ft etc. Some logs I need to pull 100-200 ft...
