Here are the total numbers:
Ford F-Series: 528,349
GM Sierra and Silverado: 499,929
Dodge Ram: 199,652
This is total trucks, 1/2 ton and up.
In the 1/2 ton segment GM is the leader.
Ford sold 249,245 F-150 series trucks.
GM sold 338,876 Sierra and Silverado 1500 series trucks.
Dodge sold 107,853 Ram 1500 series trucks.

Here are the 3/4 ton and up numbers below.
Ford 3/4 ton and up total sales were: 279,104 of which 193,822 were diesel and 85,282 were gas.
GM 3/4 ton and up total sales were: 161,053 of which 102,582 were diesel and 58,741 were gas.
Dodge 3/4 ton and up total sales were: 91,799 of which 75,867 were diesel and 15,932 were gas.
As you can see Ford out sold GM and Dodge combined in this 3/4 ton segment and up and out sold them in the diesel engine segment combined also. It was nearly 2 to 1 versus GM and nearly 3 to 1 versus Dodge so yes, while it may look like there are more issues its just a pure numbers situation.
