Ford 7.3L Gas Engine

I have numerous vehicles in the driveway. The oldest is a 1999 F150 and also have 70k F350 Platinum.. I know with almost 00% certainty that the F350 will start , run and get me cross country if I wanted. The 150 I bought for 2 years ago for 2k because it was a Florida truck and had no rust. ..that 2k truck now stands me about 13k with all the nickels and dimes I have thrown at it. .. If I had it to do all over again..I wouldn't do it all over again. Old cars are old headaches. They always....need. And I really hate spending time screwing around with mechanical BS that's broken. ...a carb, points , distributor .....F that. .. That new 7.3 sounds like its going to be a beast. I also have a 17 V10 that's a real nice pulling rig. But really likes fuel. 6.5 mpg avg. I bet they can squeeze 9 out of the 7.3 in the same truck configuration

Dealers were able to order the 20s three weeks ago and I ordered an F250 with the 7.3 and tremor package. Here are three reasons why I went for the 250 7.3 over the 350 and diesel

My current truck is an F350 diesel and I was going to go with the 350 but the tremor package kicks the bumper tow limit down to 15,000 lbs which is the same as the 250. I have more need for the off road capability than towing capacity and 15k is enough for me

The 350 has more payload capacity but my trucks always have a cap so I have no room for the extra 1,250 lbs of stuff and the 250 is over 1k cheaper

Since the towing capacity is the same with the 7.3 gas and the diesel I decided to save the 8 grand and go gas. Diesel also cost more per gallon than gas and the extra MPG doesn't justify the $8,000 premium for the length I keep my vehicles. Another thing I noticed is that the 7.3 engine in the 350 is $1,750 but it's $2,045 in the 250 with no apparent reason why. The diesel costs the same in both

What I always laugh at is when they add the 8k for the diesel option...but never give you a credit for the 6.2 they are NOT giving you ...lol

I care very little what THEY drive and work on, and care less what they think about what I drive.

I’m with you on this. People that worry about what others drive or work on or make payments on need to get a life.

The diesel is actually over 10k

I deducted the cost of the 7.3

I would have hoped for a little better percentage than that :D

I did the build and price the other night. What I noticed is that the f250 6.2 comes standard with the 6-speed trans, while the F-350 6.2 comes standard with the 10-speed trans. So in the f250, when you option the 7.3, you are also upgrading to the 10 speed. With the F-350, it already come standard with the 10-speed so you are only upgrading the engine.

That's how it looked to me on the website anyhow...

That has to be what it is. The salesman couldn’t figure it out
