typically you fill a ford radiator of that vintage so that the water is just standing over the coils, and do not fill to the neck. in any case.. find that leak...

would it be chapeir to just replace the radiator or to get it rebuilt anyone no of a good place to buy one?

If it was me with a tractor that old, I would just take it to a radiator shop. There's nothing worse than an overheated tractor, when you need the work done. Sometimes I might be on my tractor a couple of miles from my truck, and walking back in the Texas heat ain't too fun.

I'm sure I'm just preaching to the choir, but remember that ethylene glycol antifreeze is attractive to pets and other wildlife, and also deadly. Don't leave it out in an open pan.

and also while mowing with the pto on i push on the clutch put it in reverse then drive back a ways push on the clutch put it in first gear and the tractor hops forward with the clutch all the way down so i tried just letting the pto come to a compelte stop before putting it in first and it work is this how these tractors are?

sounds like you don't have an over running coupler. remember.. the mower inertia spinning the mower is keeping the trans back powered.. thus you can make the driveline live even with clutch pressed.

get an orc for mowing safety.
