Hi, I'm considering a forestry winch and am looking for input on brand and size. Its for a Kubota L 4150 and will be used in eastern Canada. Probably similar conditions to most of New England, Thanks

There have been several threads addressing the logging (forestry) winch in which you might get more information. Do a search on <font color=blue>"Logging Winch"<font color=black> and see if you can read up on what you want to know. Hope it helps.

I have a Farmi 351P which is a little small for your HP, but their 501 would be a match. Ditto for the Fransgard winches. Both makes have the same features and specs, both are easy to work on, and the entire clutch assembly can be easily removed for service. Best of all, a good winch adds a remarkable degree of safety to your logging.

I have a Fransgard V-4000 and really like it on my NH TC45D.

I have a Farmi 601 I use with an L3710. The winch is rated for 60-150hp. Even though the tractor is only 30 hp, I've found it works great as long as you don't over match the tractor with the load. I've used a sheave anchored to a large tree to reverse direction so I was pulling down hill but winching a dump truck up hill. I used the truck to get to a cistern location and move close to a thousand yds of material off the hill. Without the winch, I couldn't have done it. The winch was cranking for many long days.

I've pulled a lot of stuck vehicles. The unit is well built. I've yanked snags out of the creek and had the winch bulldoze the creek banks coming out with the butt end of the log. Unlike other attachments I've bought, I have absolutely no qualms about recommending a Farmi.

The Fransgard V series of 3 point pto logging winches are sold in the USA online by sweettractors.com They are located in Kentucky. I dont know if they can ship to Canada or not? You may try calling 270-528-3323 and ask for Ken or Greg to find out?
