Okay, this may have worked. Basically, the database has a bunch of tables, and one of them (an important one, obviously) got corrupted. It was able to fake it for a while, but then it decided it had enough and gave up. The table that was corrupted was nearly 3.5 gigs in size, so it took an entire hour to check and repair, which we've now done. Going to keep an eye on things for a while more, but we should be back to operating as normal.

Then that post and the subsequent one (by someone else) appear in the thread but aren't listed when I go to my 'Subscribed Threads', or to the list of my recent posts that appears from clicking my username. I thought this might resolve overnight, but no.

That post has a photo so the post is listed in my list of recent attachments, but the post is not listed in my subscribed threads or personal posting history.

That may be fixed soon automatically. Sometimes stuff only gets fixed after new stuff is added. But we can run tools later as well.

Remaining minor problem: My post above (#15) doesn't show in the 'recent posts' accessed by clicking my username, and this thread doesn't show in my 'subscribed threads', so I had to go to the master site list, 'posts in last 24 hours', to find my way back here to post this.

Likewise for other posts I made before today's shutdown. (No big loss! )

Posts I've made after today's shutdown appear properly in my 'subscribed threads' but not via clicking my username.

I was having the same problem and obtained a temporary workaround by increasing the number of posts per page to 40 under "General Settings."

Probably the posts that got entered during the db issues. Please link to threads you're having issues with and I can check them one by one.

I've made subsequent posts in the threads not shown in my history. My subsequent posts sufficiently represent whatever it was I wanted to say, so it isn't worth your trouble to go tinker with the dbs.

This present thread is my simplest example. My post #28 above is now linked-to, but my yesterday post #15 remains invisible to what is shown when you click my name, and it did not create an addition to my Subscribed list as a consequence of my posting it. (Subscribed is my normal entry point to TBN).

Another instance: I wrote Thank You here, partly in appreciation but partly so I would have some record of posting a more significant earlier post that at the time, I had no record of.

And this post still doesn't seem to be indexed.

Muhammad as I said, my posts aren't worth your trouble to go tinker with the dbs. I mention them only so you have a record, a trail of breadcrumbs to follow, in your analysis of what went wrong.

Mind you, I live on the other side of the world from most of you and all of this fracas occurred whilst I was asleep.

I was having my own grief posting on what I recall was Saturday. (a few days ago) I tried posting to a new thread and when I hit the add post button it stated "err" so went backwards and tried again and then it said "duplicate post". Each time I looked for it, I could not find what I was posting. Today I looking in my "past posts tab" and its not shown. So I gave up. All these responds I got when I tried to post were new to me, I was following the same procedure I had used before.

I changed my "General Settings" to show 40 posts/page. The last post I see in your first thread is dated 11:42 am today. For the second thread, the last post is dated 6:04 pm yesterday.
