Anyone know what this is? I'm looking for some additional lighting for my tractor so that when I'm working the loader, I still have light in front (the headlights are often blocked). JD shows "Forwarding Lighting Kit - 2 lights" (code: LVB25546) but I can't find any additional information on it.

Do these attach to the ROPs or where do they go? It mentions that you also need the Warning Light Brush Guard Kit (Two Guards) for this - so I'm suspecting that it goes on top of the existing ROP lights (I also have the rear work light).

I'm going to order a set, but before I do I'd like to find out if anyone has them installed or has looked into them before. Thanks!

Merry Christmas everyone! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had the dealer install rear lights on my 4320 when I ordered the machine in Oct.
When I got the machine I looked at the JD web site and notced the the front lights are two each and the front lights are one each. So the dealer mounted the front lights on the ROPS and just faced them back. I found as you did that the loader blocks the headlights and I just loosened the bolt holding the light on and turned the light around.
The rear lights are shown mounted on guards that are added to protect the flashing lights that are mounted on the ROPS.
Go on JD web sithe and they do have pics of the lights on the 4320 page under misc. attachments.

I have the JD front and rear work lights lights on my 4410. There is a brush guard as a pre to the JD lights. It is a metal strap that wraps around the turn markers. The front lights mount to the top of that. I ordered the brush guards which total about 35 dollars. If I recall the front light kit gives you both lights. Don't recall that price. The rear JD lights mount to the inside of the ROPS. The holes are there to mount two but are sold as singles.

I have two forward and two reverse on my 4720.

If you look at the HOME page of tractorbynet you will see the twenty series article in which you can see how the forwards are mounted.

I dont really see the rears in that picture.. But as someone else said they mount on the inner edge of the ropes.

The dealer mounted mine on the rops. They are slighly different than the forward lights in shape, (more of a flood)and since they dont come with anything like the brush guard ( which provides a horizontal mounting service ) they wind up being mounted 'sideways'. Instead of the oval shape being longest on the horizontal plane they are mounted with the longest/widest on a verticle plane. Basically turn the forward lights 90 degrees... Hope i'm drawing the mental picture correctly.

They do work prettly well.

I guess lots of folks just want one rear is why they are sold as single as opposed to pairs. I like lots of light so I ordered two.

So what you're saying, Craig, is that I need to order the brush guards and that the lights essentially mount to those. Does the wiring connect to the existing lights on the ROPS then? (the backup light connects into the wiring harness separately - so I'm interested in how this wires in).

I think I'm going to order them this next week - having them for snow movement this year will be handy. Does anyone know if you can put two of the backup lights in? Right now I have one - but it would be nice to have two if possible. Any idea?

If you were to do it the JD way you need the brush guards for the front light kit. You take out the bolts that attach the turn lights to the rops and mount the brush guard. There is a hole on top the brush guard to mount the forward light. You run the wires down the rops or inside the rops to below the seat. There is a black and a purple wire to connect the lights on each side.

You can mount two forward lights this way and two rear lights. The rear lights mount to the inside of the rops. If you already have the forward lights you use a wire splice to tap the rear light into the same wires below the seat.

I have plans to change the wiring on mine to include a switch for the forward and rear work lights. Wiring it the JD way has all forward and rear work lights on when the dash light switch is in the field position.

Thanks for the information, Tom and Craig. I agree with Tom - I like lots of lights so I will probably order another rear light too. I'm heading over to the dealership on Friday to order the lights and guards. I'll post my results once I've got them installed.

One comment though about the rear lights - you'd think they could give you another 6-12 inches of wire with those things.. when I installed the single rear light I have now, that wire was pretty close and fishing it wasn't easy. oh well. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Thanks again for your help!

Thanks for posting these pictures - I see how the brush protector is used for mounting the forward lights. I was surprised to see that your rear-facing lights are round as mine are rectangular - also, it looks like your dealer ran the cable down the outside of the ROPs where I thought it would go inside. Was that due to the amount of cable involved?

Thanks for sharing the picture - I ordered my lights on Friday and should see them sometime next week. I'll let you know what I find out.

From what I have seen the work lights for the new 4000 20 series are round. Not sure if the ones you order will be round or rectangular. The ones on my 4410 were rectangular but I got them about a year ago.

I pulled my wires down through the ROPS with a little work. I feed a stiff thin wire down first and pulled the work light wires with that. Some might go the easier way and fix the wires to the outside of the ROPS. The wire on my work lights were plenty long.

I have plans at some point to add two switches so I can turn the forward or rear lights off and on. Right now all work lights are on with the main light switch in work light mode.

I've got the original a set of (rectangular) work lights on my 4310, both facing in the rear direction. I had been thinking about purchasing the brush guards from JD, allowing me to remount one of these in the forward direction. Does anyone know if it's possible to simply mount these on the brush guard (e.g., outboard of the flashers) and simply flip them between forward and reverse as needed? Alternate suggestions?

I wish they had ran them inside the rops,,, wire is cheap, and protecting it would make it last much longer I'm sure.

If you look close, the wireing isn't done nicely at all as far as astetics go.

I received my ROPS Brush Kit, forward lights, and extra rear light today. It looks like the ROPS Brush Kit is intended to work with the 4x10 series vs. the 4x00 series units. Is this true and has anyone seen brush kits for the 4x00 series? Or should I just try to retrofit the 4x10 series brush guard on anyway?

The dealer didn't know the difference - so I guess I'm going to have to figure it out myself or return the stuff. I'd prefer not to, as I really want the extra lights.

Thanks for your help.

Do you have a picture? You must be the first one here to have that kit.

I ordered my 4410 with a single, rear-facing worklight mounted on the inboard side of the rops on the left side of the machine. There is a hole there that the wires run through. The wires continue down inside the rops and plug in to the black & purple plugs at the other end. Last week I added two forward-facing worklights using only the parts that came in the kit from Deere. It's as simple as this: Unbolt the rear light unit from the rops, slide the brush guard/worklight bracket between the light unit and the rops, put the bolts back in. During that process you must also insert the bolts that will hold the worklights from inside the bracket pointing up. The limited space between the flasher and the bracket will hold the bolt in place. Don't plan to install the bolt from above with the nut between the flasher and bracket, as in the instructions. It will not fit! Next, place the worklights on the up-facing bolts and install the nuts. I aimed my lights horizontal and slightly outward. The last thing to do is to run the black & purple wires down through the rops. I taped mine together with electrical tape and a short piece (3") of baling wire at the leading end. It will take some patience to snake the wires through the hole at the bottom end of the rops but you can do it if you're patient. There is no need to remove the wheels. Once you're through, just plug the ends in to the plugs that Deere has already installed for you. If you've already got a rear worklight installed, as I did, you will have to tap in to one side with the clips included in the kit. If not, just plug in. The only addition I made to the kit was wire wrap on the exposed wires going from the lights in to the rops, cinched down with wire ties, and a few more wire ties to hold the wire wrap to the tractor here and there. I'll try to get some pictures today to post later on. It's an easy project if you have the patience. I don't know what I would have done without those lights this week. Monday night I was out plowing a yard for our cattle to get from the run'in to the water trough and ended up with 10' high piles of snow all aroung after clearing a 30x30 area! We've had over 40" of snow this week on Cape Cod. Needless to say, my neighbors love me now! So far I have a cake, a watercolor painting of me on my tractor from an art teacher, a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black and a bottle of Drambouie fore my efforts!

Well - now I'm really confused.

The configurator has different pictures and descriptions for the forward lights/brush guards/rear light when you compare between the 4x10 and 4x20 series tractors. Apparently the only difference is the part number for the lights - since the brush guard is the same part # (but different picture for the two models). So I'm going to have the dealer contact Deere and specify that this is for the 4x00 model (matching the 4x10 series) - and see if they can be sure to get me the right lights and right bracket.

[basically - since I don't have pictures, the lights for the 4x10/4x00 series are rectangular while the lights for the 4x20 are round/oval.. The brackets are also bigger on the 4x20's since the warning/turning lights are not contained in one light package. If you want to see some pictures you can go to the configurator site though as they are there]

It seems odd that Deere just doesn't have different part #'s for both the lights AND the brush guard.... that way it wouldn't be so confusing. It would also be nice if they would give you a matrix showing what accessories retrofit on the 4x00 models so you don't have to guess your way through things.

Any Deere dealers or workerbees who can comment?

Once I'm in my office today, I will post the part #s for both the worklight package and the brush guards/brackets package. They are two seperate packages. My parts man at R. F. Morse in Wareham, MA had no problem whatsoever writing the order for me. Everything was drop-shipped to my door within a week. He even got for me the armrest package when the tractor was new last summer after the salesman said there was no such thing.

Thanks, Dave. We're in the process of re-doing the order now to get the right set of lights and brush guards. Apparently the brush guards have the same part #'s for the 4x00/4x10 series as they do for the 4x20 series in the books and the on-line configurator. You'd think Deere would specify a separate part # for everything so it would make getting new parts (or new accessories) easier....

Does anyone know of a matrix that shows the accessories and part #'s as they cross-reference through the 4x00, 4x10, and 4x20 models? The rapid changes in the platforms has the dealers all confused now.

Thanks for your help!

Ok. We finally got the right parts ordered (thanks to the service manager at the Northfield JD dealership) and they have arrived. Here is what the part numbers are:
- LVB25016 - Warning Light Guard (4x00 series - MIM 880721)
- LVB25023 - Forward Light Kit (4x00 series)
- LV910502 - Rear Work Light Kit (4x00 series - MIM 880726)

The Warning Light Guard fits over the single, integrated turning/warning light configuration on the 4600 and the Front/Rear lights are rectangular (instead of round like they are for 4x30 series). It took an hour on the phone with JD for the service manager to get the right part #'s as JDParts (and the catalog) didn't have them.

I'm going to wire the new lights in this weekend (given the weather permits) and maybe I'll get to post some pictures. In the meantime I'd suggest that anyone who is buying accessories for the 4x00 series should double check to insure the parts, etc., are correct. According to the service manager, they've changed things so many times that JDParts and the catalogs just arn't correct or up-to-date...
