Dave - Congratulations! Sounds like you are feeling better, too. Please let us know how the repair goes, and what was replaced.

It was fun to read all the ideas and conversation. And even though I was skeptical about JB Weld, I'd like to get more info about it - I know it sets up solidly, and can be drilled and tapped, but was surprised to see it reccommended for this kind of stress. I haven't checked out the web site, but I'm interested in its adhesion qualities, especially in contaminated environments.

If it is applicable to this sort of problem, even as a temporary "get you home" solution, I'm gonna go get a Family Sized bucket of the stuff, instead of the little token tube I have hanging on the wall.

Great news, Dave. Now when you get to the dealer with the tractor, I'll bet you get lots of attention and stares. That has to be one of the most unusual defects they have ever seen. It shouldn't take long to fix, and I'm sure you'll be back in the "saddle" again before long.

Mark, if you were looking for a product line with the most versatility and for contaminated areas, I'd think about Devcon.
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.devcon.com/devconsecondaryframeproducts.html>Devcon Metal-Filled Epoxies</A>

I suggested Dave use JBWeld only because it is widely available and was only a very, very temporary fix. Devcon has what seems to be a much wider variety of adhesives and their website is filled with data and case studies. It makes interesting reading. Unfortunately, most of these adhesives have a fairly short shelf-life, so buying them by the bucketfull is only a good idea if you have have a considerably high volume of use./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hey John,
Wish you would read my post better.
Yes, i feel all the compacts are not made to take HD loader use. BUT, my origional post was about how chinese castings were soft, and how the studs pulled out of the front end castings. I've never seen or even heard of this happening with any tractor except the ones from China. Hope you "finally" get it!!!

I all so stated dirt work is hard on "any tractor"! I stand by those staments too! I've been at this tractor thing for many years, we've had this farm near 50 years now, and i'm relateing my/our expierences to you!

Yes, all brands of tractors can and do leak, BUT, none of mine do at this time, and NONE of my new, or near new ones have since i bought them!! I was stateing chinese tractors seem to be leakers when they are NEW!! Got it??

As for the link i posted on the other forum, on the ACMOC site, you "can't" post to the exact place, you can post to the home page, and then you need to go to the discussions. That's why i gave you the "name of the post".

http://www.acmoc.org/

go to "Bulliton board", then "last week" then all most to the bottom, go to "small dozer/loader site. Got it????????

I feel if you can't read my post and grasp what i'm trying to convey by now, you "never will", so i'm not going to keep attempting to explain it to you any more. "If" you feel the need to blast me some more, have at it! :)

Happy tractoring,
Robert

No offense to either JohnS or Robert, but please don't 'have at it'. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif (I would have sent private emails but Robert is not registered).

Try chaining the axle to the loader arm while the axle is
jacked up,you may need all your buddies to stand on the
back of the tractor for ballast---good luck

Glad it worked.

<font color=blue>"The suggestion of using a trailer as a temporary "front axle" worked great to get the tractor off the soft uneven ground and onto a straight part of the driveway. Set the NH "tricycle" down and backed the landscape "

The dealer took a look at it this morning, ordered the needed parts and should have it all back together tomorrow afternoon.

But since they have it and its due for the 300 hr servicing and I've been eyeing the rear remotes they will have a day or so more. Will pick it up Saturday. Sure miss having the tractor around. May have to throw a homecoming party! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
