Just make certain the dealer puts on the reinforcement kit as well as the heavy duty top link bracket and you'll be fine.

There are a lot of 3pt hoes sold. There have been some problems with tractor damage attributed to the hoe, bell housing, rear casting, etc.
There are people that can break anything and some people with extremely bad luck. If 3pt hoes commonly caused damage, the market for them would dry up. I have one and like it.

That reinforcing bracket is supposed to help. My dealer forgot to install one on my L2800 for the Bush Hog bh650 backhoe, and it tore out the top half of the rear gear case. The dealer picked the machine up quickly, and returned it that week, repaired and with the bracket installed. I had ordered the bh with a subframe, just to be on the safe side, but Bush Hog took nearly a year to make and deliver it.
If you cand get a subframe, DO IT.

The market won't dry up as long as people are willing to trade off lower purchase price for drastically reduced tractor life. The old "it won't ever happen to me" syndrome. Or they old "if they sold it, it must be good" syndrome. Those are often followed by an sickening, expensive sound and the words, "what the ___!" Check out how many tractor manufacturer will warranty a tractor with a 3pt hoe. Right now, I don't know of any that DO.

Now, I don't know anything about your machine and how you operate it. It could be fine for years and years. Most are. But the use of an unsupported hoe induces bending stresses in the castings that will lead to plastic deformation and cracks. The cracks will grow. These are cracks on a frame mounted industrial hoe's transmission bell housing and differential housing. In addition to the measured cracks, there were over a dozen others. It was only a matter of time until that machine was going to be in 2 large leaky parts.

Maybe so but, I think we'd be seeing a whole lot more damaged tractors than we are seeing now. Here on TBN there are alot of members and alot of those members know others with tractors, yet still very few reports of that kind of damage. This despite 3pt hoes having been sold for many years and it seems in a fairly sizable quantity. I will note that when it does cause damage, it can be severe.
I have a subframe and intend to mate my 3pt hoe to it, just haven't yet. I will agree that subframe is a more secure mount.

That's funny, when I bought my tractor and backhoe a couple of years ago, the only backhoe design Kubota would warranty was the one Kubota designed and sold with their tractor, with their name on it, and it was 3 point mounted.

The market will always be there when dealers offer 3-point hoes that
are fairly easy to mount to CAT 1 tractors and tell their newbie buyers
that they will be no problem. The dealer does not have to figure out
how to get a subframe for each and every tractor his customers might
have.

Kubota is the exception when it comes to offering a 3-pt hoe, the
4672 and 4690 for their tractors, but using someone else's 3-point
hoe WILL void your Kubota warranty. I don't think JD, CNH. Kioti, and
others allow 3-point hoes on their tractors.
