Front Tire Chains

   / Front Tire Chains #12
Well I was starting to doubt myself, The memory is not as good as it once was but here is a link for you, down about page 9 "choosing correct tires for mfd tractors"
http://asae.frymulti.com/data/pdf/6/crt2004/Lecture28.pdf
I see what you mean now, the manufacturers do take into account the actual rolling circumference of the tires when they set up the gearing for each axle. Which for a smaller high deflection front tire could be a 5% gearing difference compared to the back axle. But I think goal is still keep each axle spinning with little or no binding.

Perhaps that was not the best article to reference here is a basic explanation from firestone.
http://firestoneag.spinutech.com/webres/File/Tire-Info/TireInfo-LeadLag.pdf

The original poster should check his lead/lag ratio, he may well have too much lead, causing excessive tire wear. The Article makes another good point 4 wheel assist in not designed to be used contionusly.
